$85 for the plan + $x for the mobile. Looks okay. Can you suggest a better name for the cost of the plan? For example, $0 mobile for the Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
Mate 20 pro is $85 as is the S10, though higher models are more, maybe "From $85" would make it clearer
I was offered 30gb 59pm plan for 64gb pixel 3 XL through the customer retention team when i said i am porting out to another provider. Total cost of the plan was 1416

I just quoted the Telstra JB Hi Fi deal and got 50gb + Intl calls + Mate 20 Pro + GT Watch(via redemption) for $63.75/mth (Total $1530). Didn't need phone or watch but couldn't pass it up.
What Telstra JB Hifi deal? I'm in for that price if I can get it. I have the Mate 20 Pro already but my wife would love one as the camera is awesome.

I rang Optus and, even though my contract wasn't expiring for 2 mths, they offered me the above deal if I renewed on the spot. I also mentioned some of the other deals that Optus were offering to new customers (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/439281 ) and got the deal offer pretty quick. It was on 2 renewing contracts and I have been loyal so that probably had something to do with it. Wasn't interested in the International minutes but it was a bonus above what the new plans were offering. Unfortunately couldn't push it to a new S10+. I have all samsung gear and my galaxy watch didn't play all that nice with the Mate 20 Pro so now have listed in classifieds with GT Watch.
@petebern: Tried and couldn't get it. Optus Chat advised they've got like a 20% discount for multiple services. So it won't apply to existing customers with one service only.

Before signing any mobile plans just check how much would you pay if you go for Sim only & mobile seperate & what would you get.
Like $85 plan doesn't include int calling but Sim only includes it. Do total over the plan period to calculate exact.
So glad I held back purchasing yesterday and I've actually been eyeing out these exact headphones - big monday win for me!
Just got off the phone with optus. I went in looking at the S10. Chat stuffed me around and told me they'd apply a discount but I have to go instore to initiate it. Went instore and they told me there was nothing they could do. Pissed off I called retention and could not have spoken to a nicer girl if I tried. She ended up helping me out and applied a discount to any plan of my choice so I ended up getting the S10+ with 200gb data for less than the standard S10 50gb cap.
Also apparently still getting the tablet but unconfirmed Wether wifi or LTE… You'd think LTE so they could upsell to another sim card, but that means the tablet freebie is worth a lot more than the free buds…
what discount did you use?
I am also tempted with the S10+ - how do you speak to retention… do you just ask to speak to that team ?
ye i got pissed off with getting the runaround so i called up, politely asked if i could speak with a local person, then asked for retention
Hey andrgram, do you mind me asking what your contract situation was when you negotiated with retention to get your discount? E.g. Just finished 24 month contract, had a month or two to go etc? I think I'm in a similar situation to you and live chat have been useless. I have a few months to go but was curious whether I had any chance of replicating your deal.

Guys.. not a bad deal. I know it wasnt good as the $70 p/m but considering the Mate 20 pro is around $1500 and the watch is about $300. the total cost of the contract is 2040 (which means your only paying around $240 over 2 years and get calls and 50 gigs of data per month.

The description that Optus has provided is pretty misleading - the bonus gifts seem to only apply on the 100$+ plans
