Hi,
I'm after genuine/OEM/aftermarket parts (to be more specific brake pads and discs) for my car.
I got the part numbers from the dealership.
Where should I look now? I've already checked eBay and none available. I've found genuine parts for almost half the price on the US based online store but the shipping cost from the US will be prohibitive since one disc rotor alone weighs nearly 10kg.
My car is not classic or anything. Parts should be readily available.
I'm Sydney/Brisbane based.
Thanks

Find out which aftermarket brands and models/types work on your car/chassis.
Some are great for some chassis', but make bad pads for others.
Here is what I know:
* OE ones are well thought out and tested, to allow the car to sell without complaints from testers and buyers alike
* OEM ones can vary to meet different applications, but often to be cheaper, or just marketed to make them more 'saleable'
* Very few OEM ones are actually tested by teams of engineers, unlike the OE pads
* Brands that do this are ones that supply race teams and so on, but if you use yor car on the street a race pad is very probably a bad idea
* Very few brands test their product well, or have access to and/or comprehend to the OEM design specs, and produce something close to, or exceeding the OEM padBendix is a basement brand that has improved over the years, some of their pads are better than older OEM pads.
Bosch is dependable and often worth the extra for any car, of course euros, and if you have a euro car sometimes you can find the brand of the pads they built it with (Textar/Brembo etc.) and find those in the aftermarket, but beware; oftentimes what you find in the aftermarket is old stock or might not be what you hope/think it isjust list the part numbers here and people will tell you the cheapest places.
why make it hard for people wanting to help you?
If you are looking for Brake pads and dics, you can contact Brakes Direct(https://brakesdirect.com.au/) or on 1300 724 943.
They had helped me when i was looking for brake pads and dics for my VW and at really good prices, i purchases a better category of pads and dics for cheaper than genuine VW parts.list make, year, model and badge of car so can look or pm me if want to keep investment secret…
why genuine exactly?
I'd just get some aftermarket ones. Remsa pads would be a good place to start, brakesdirect or sparesbox have them. then some dba or similar rotors.
European rotors are made out of a softer compound for colder countries/snow so wear faster. Why not go for something made for local conditions such as DBA as previously mentioned? It'll last longer too!
