Nintendo Switch - Neon Blue and Red Joy-Con
Price drop on Amazon for the Nintendo Switch. Enjoy.
Pretty average price compared to December but I guess not too bad at the moment.
Waiting for $350..
Wish they would make a docked only version (couldn't really call it a switch then) for cheaper. Then I would buy one just to play breath of the wild, and maybe a couple others.
They supposedly already have the "lesser" hardware revision in the works.
Quick edit: Oh, somehow thought you said "dockless," not "dock-only." Yeah, I don't think we'll ever see a dock-only version.
I thought the incoming version is a minor upgrade and slight design improvement. Will see what comes when it comes I guess!
I've heard talk of both. Don't quote me on this since they're rumors (and it indeed sounds suspicious that they would release an improvement and a cheaper edition at once, so it's likely that one of these are false), but I thought that in 2018 the Wall Street Journal was going on about a "Switch Pro"-like thing coming in 2019, but elsewhere reporting that Nintendo had been ordering bulks of hardware components that would allude to a "Switch Mini" which would ship without the dock.
Seriously, one of these are probably false and I don't know which, I stepped out of line on my previous comment saying that the Mini was supposedly in the works.
For what it's worth, the only game I've heard anyone having performance issues with is brief moments in Xenoblade Chronicles 2, so a "Pro" doesn't sound too necessary currently. On the other hand, shipping without a dock seems like a pretty viable move to save costs on hardware, make the device cheaper for customers, and bring in a few more of the handhold-craving customers.
I want a Switch Mini. It sounds like a good idea. I don't necessarily expect it since I don't know what to think, but it feels more necessary than a Pro.
@[Deactivated]: I think switch mini is guaranteed. They're phasing out 2ds and 3ds, so it makes sense to have a smaller, portable only to replace where the 2ds sits at the moment.
@[Deactivated]: Thanks for that. Yeah, will be interesting to see what comes next. I'd also heard about minor design modifications to prevent the screen from sometimes getting scratched when being slid into the dock. In terms of a mini-version, could be cool - even if I am still very active on my PS Vita's!

Looks like it is going to be both (Pro and Mini) after all.
@[Deactivated]: Excellent! Thanks mate. Was holding back getting on board the Switch Train until their second gen was released.
Your best bet for that type of thing is to wait for the emulators to get better in a year's time or so. Or buy the switch, and clock the game within the return window.
Lol… Maybe in like 8 years time amazon will have them for $99 like they did for the 3DS. Realistically but, I would happily pay $250 for one, maybe $300 max. Not sure what the chances of that are as Nintendo stuff never really gets discounted that crazy.
Could pick up a Wii-U with botw for cheap maybe? Don't know differences in quality of Wii-U vs switch.
@[Deactivated]: I would probably want to play it in the best possible quality to be honest. I vaguely remember reading that the wii u version has a pretty bad framerate. Also, I have a massive pile of shame for my PS4, so I'm not that desperate to get to BotW, but it would be nice to play it one day.
Just play it on your pc, via emulation the graphics are amazing.
My partner has seen the Yoshi game and wants it for her birthday in 6 weeks. Should I pull the trigger or wait on a better offer? Thoughts/comments appreciated
Doubt it will get much better in that timeframe. I vote now. If you wait, wait until mid year June sales.
Agreed. I purchased at $399 with 12% cashback (still hasn't appeared.. sigh). If you can use cashback it eases the price a little. I doubt it'd get much cheaper than $350 any time soon… Not much savings if it means you can have it now vs the unforeseeable future right?
Maybe an announcement at E3 in mid June might stir things up. Probably the only thing to hope for.
Have to hand it to Nintendo for the success of the switch. Still most popular item here despite being many years old. Probably also the longest time Nintendo has gone without a hardware announcement when they usually use that to drive sales.
Sometimes shopback has 10% - 12% cashback.
Tempting!
Must… resist….
Thanks OP.
Grey is the same price.
Pokemon Let's Go Evee is also reduced to 549, $50 off.
I suppose this one cant be hacked?
I, too, would like to know this.
I would say probably not. Most made after June 2018 can’t.
Just got mine delivered today, according to gbatemp serial number is home-brew friendly, firmware 4.0.1
Must be refreshed version coming out soon, surely?
Supposedly!
If you're waiting for a better price, it might pay off to wait a small while longer.

been waiting a while. Since the demand is strong there's little chance of a perm price cut, so I think I'll hold off a bit more till a hardware refresh is out.
Thanks OP.
just started playing breath of the wild on the wii u. its a good game.
I played on Wii u too. Wish they had kept in the tablet inventory management support.
So with the $10 Amazon voucher and 6% cash back, it comes down to $347.
Not too bad.
Not sure if you'll get the cashback or not given you used the $10 voucher - both shopback and CR have terms listed.
This is shopback's relevant fine print, given you must have used them - cashback may not be paid if you use:
1)Promo codes or Voucher codes not approved by ShopBack
2)Purchases paid with gift cards/Amazon credit
Either way - good luck.
I want one just for Tetris 99 but will need to be cheaper than this.
Expensive Tetris machine
Expired, Grey $428, Red/Blue $399
Damn where were you at 12% cashback!
