10% off Coupon Code at Advent Games (Excludes Preorders)

ADVENT10

G'day again OzBargain!

Advent Games is a Sydney-based, friendly online board game store, and I'm running a 10% OFF Coupon Code for the next three days (Ends Monday 18th March at 11:59pm)
The coupon code:

ADVENT10

can be entered into the cart page to give 10% off the current price of all in stock items (excludes preorders, everything is while stocks last). There are also heaps more bargains in two different categories

SPECIALS
CLEARANCE

and the 10% off code will work on all those too.

For an example, GLOOMHAVEN is still the #1 game on BGG at the moment - $182.95 (RRP $220) on the store, ADVENT10 brings it to $164.55

So I do hope you can find a game you'll love! Any comments, I'll try to get to them ASAP.

HAPPY GAMING!

About: And a bit about Advent Games - the store was started in 2012 and sits more on the niche Hobbyist end of the spectrum. My name is Dean and I took over the ownership and running of the store in 2015. I'm an avid euro board gamer and play locally in Sydney. I also run a yearly event with players attending to play as many of the new games as I'm able to snap up at Essen.

Shipping is via AusPost eParcel which services all PO Boxes and Parcel Lockers, and while it's a little pricey, I use good quality cardboard boxes and plenty of packing to take as much care as I can ensuring your games arrive safely. No satchels or loose items.

  • OP good to know that you are an independent business and an avid gamer
However I am a common man with bills, school fees loans and a mortgage

Living in Victoria, Gloomhaven would work out to be $180 delivered (including your 10% off)
    I could get it here
    https://gamerholic.com.au/products/gloomhaven-base-edition
    for $165 delivered

No disrespect meant but on the few titles I've checked your sale prices are higher than regular prices elsewhere

    • G'day docians,

I hear ya, common man with bills, mortgage, etc here too!

I definitely try to keep the pricing as competitive as I can, but with over 4000 items on the store, it'll definitely be 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. I'd absolutely recommend the SPECIALS page - along with the coupon code there's some really great bargains in there. Likewise the Clearance page. But hopefully a second random sample will turn up some good prices with the coupon for you! Or if there's something in particular you're looking at, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Also recommend buying a few things at once for free shipping. (And with prices for the bigger things like Gloomhaven, it's easier done!)

      Hope that helps a bit!

      Dean.

I wouldn't expect any one game to be the best price with 10% off, but the Advent website does reasonably show retail prices and their price, so you get a guide of what you're saving. It also shows what is in stock and what's coming. Personally I like Advent because the prices are close to best, and service IS the best.

Also they have a lot of what hobby gamers want, take care of the games, and provide good packaging. I'm sure they sometimes make mistakes (Dean is human), but there are others you want to stay well clear of.

tl;dr good prices, best service, wide choice of games

    thanks mate
apart from pointing us to the bargains and specials, where there probably are slow moving items anyway, do you have any specific examples of prices that are actual bargains

on another post on ozb there are some specific bargains mentions, and I've compared his prices to yours, including your ten percent off
his price/ your price (including 10% off)

    Gloomhaven $157.50/ $164.50
    Spirit Island - $81/ $94.50
    Aeons End legacy $85.50/ $103.5
    Mansions of Madness $99/ $126
    Fog of Love -$56.70/ $64.8
    Great Western Trail = $88/ $94.5
Catan - $50.40; sorry could not find the base game on your site
    Dixit $38.70 /$49.5
Escape Room the Game $43.20/ $49.5
    Fury of Dracula $71/ $76.5
    last week he had
    7 Wonders $50/ $63
    Splendor $41/ $56.7
    Carcassonne $36/ $48.6
    Dice Forge $40/ 56.7

his shipping rate to Victoria is $10, yours is $15

Hopefully I have shown you examples of real deals that your competitors are offering
Some of them are very popular games, and in every case, your price is not as good

Hopefully I have shown you more than six of one, hoping you will come back with half a dozen of the other :)
