Popular all-rounder lens for the micro four thirds system. I noticed this place was $200 cheaper than any other outlet when shopping for one.

Still quite pricey for 3.5-5.6
I got a 12-35 2.8 here in Seoul this week second hand for $500. Better lens I'd say, and constant 2.8 across the range.
But it's for a BMPCC4K so it has a doubling crop factor, so it's not apples/apples.
You're comparing a 2nd hand lens that's completely different, in a completely different part of the world, to this one?
My phone camera has f1.6.
My car is also due for its service.
I was comparing by price, champ. If someone had $500, it's what they could find.
It's a better way to spend $500 - there's one on Gumtree right now "in this part of the world" for $500.
Totally agree its very expy for 3.5-5.6
I would suggest spend little more to get Olympus 12-40 2.8 pro, which should be miles ahead.
I have had it for several years, and I have seen it go in 600 range quite often.
This lens zooms to 140mm, how does a 12-40mm lens replace this? A 12-40mm lens does not classify as an all-rounder.
If we're judging lenses on focal ratio only then we should all rush out and get the 20mm f1.7 for $300. What a bargain.
If you can wait for a 20% ebay sale with Ryda these usually go for around $430.
I can't speak for the quality of the Panasonic, but I have the equivalent Olympus (14-150mm 4-5.6 II) and it's a very handy lens, relatively compact with a decent reach.
Agreed, good for travel photography.
Is it true this lens has been discontinued? It was introduced in 2013.
