ALDI to Sell Robot Vacuum That Also Mops Floors

https://www.perthnow.com.au/lifestyle/home-decorating/aldi-t…

I love my iRobot, had it for four years now, or more. It's still going strong but wonder how long more I can keep it.
Been looking at various posts especially XiaoMi, love the white color.

As for the bagless, I have a love-hate relationship. Love the no-bag thing, but hate to clean it. Ah well….

Now there's another contented. I am waiting eagerly :-))

Not sure about anyone else's experience but within my circle, we have found most Aldi things to be "disposable".

They perform their intended function to the lowest acceptable standard.

  • This is a press release presented as a news article

You can get a budget mop / vacuum robot for 220ish so i wonder how much closer aldis is to that vs the xamoi and roomba

    • Please post link to this, am interested

  • This sounds interesting, I kind of want one just to see if it really works.

    I heard it sucks.

  • Heard from the 'internet' that devices dont move so well on wet floors.

  • Bought previous Aldi vacuum/mop robot. (Not app controlled, just remote.) Returned after 59 days.

Major issue: Low suction power did not pick up grit. Still need to vaccum.

Mop attachment was a piece of cloth attached underneath, fed from tank, with a controlled soapy water release.
Worked OK on fairly clean floor. Spilt a sugary drink, set it to clean up - no residue left. But not good on built up grime. Dragging a soapy cloth will never be as thorough as a mop, bucket, & a bit of force.

A lot to regularly replace, like all these robots. Brushes got mangled in a week (kitchen floor really needed a good mop). So check how to order, as not stocked by Aldi. If supplies aren't available, that's the end of your purchase.
