    Are these used for monitors?

    I remember buying a lengthy DVI-DVI cable for a projector run back in 2003, didn't know people still used em.

      You can use it to connect between a HDMI and a DVI device. Video only, obviously, no audio. Otherwise no limitation as to the type of devices.

      Yes - my work PC only has 1 DVI and 1 HDMI so for a dual monitor setup these are necessary.
