Credit Card with Apple Pay and Earn KrisFlyer Points

I would like to get a credit card that has Apple Pay and earn KrisFlyer points.

I've narrowed it down to 3 options:

1) ANZ Rewards Black which is $375pa (which I don't mind as the bonus points are good), 120k bonus points and converts to 0.74 KrisFlyer
2) Citi Rewards Signature which is $195pa, 300k bonus points over 2 years and I think converts to 0.4 KrisFlyer points
3) HSBC Platinum which is $0pa, no bonus points and I think converts to 0.5 KrisFlyer

I know I can get Velocity points too then convert to KrisFlyer but the Virgin credit cards don't do Apple Pay.

So am I missing any other deals or other ways of getting KrisFlyer points?

EDIT: we want a daily spender so a Visa/MasterCard that is accepted everywhere.

  • Certain amex cards still have a 50,000-100,000 sign up bonus with a 1:1 transfer to kris flyer. Sign up fee can be very expensive though

    • Sorry should have said we want a daily spender so a Visa/MasterCard that is accepted everywhere. Will update now.

St George Amplify can send to Krisflyer. They usually have offers for Amplify points or QFF.

Didn't realise St George didn't have Apply Pay ;/

Yeah, but it is the best earning KFF card there is at 0.825 per $1.

      • Yep. Excluding amex obviously.

  • Note that the Citi Sig can transfer to KF at up to 0.8 depending on the retailer, and add another 15% when transferred during a promo period. But at 0.4 for more everyday spend it is a little off the pace. I have it fee-free and pretty much keep it just for the 2 x priority pass.

    • Oh how does the Citi Sig transfer to KF at 0.8? I thought the best was 0.4 not taking into account special offers.

      • The earn rate at major retailers, hotel chains, airlines etc and international spend is 2 Citi ppd which converts to KF at 0.8 KF per Citi point. Earn for spend at other places is only 1 or 1.5 Citi ppd (which transfer at lower rates obviously).

You can find some info here:

The fun is trying to figure out which restaurant is "major", for example. I don't think there's a published list anywhere.

        • Ah I see. Yeah I did see that however the 2 points isnt for major retailers and the rest for 2 points I'd rarely spend. Half our spending would be the other transactions so only 1 point per dollar. Think I'm going to go with ANZ Rewards as the rewards are better and with $100 cashback it's only $275 annual fee ;)

@bobwokeup: I'm in the same boat as you. I don't often spend at anything other than the 1ppd places.

I have the ANZ travel rewards adventure card but it is slightly worse than the Citi Sig, the monthly cap for eg.

            • @Some Guy: Yeah I wanted to get that card but the $2k limit and then points per dollar goes from 1.5 to 0.5 was what stopped me. Our credit card bills range from $4-6k per month so hence why I decided on the Rewards Black ;)

              • @bobwokeup: I got the adventure and will get an ANZ ff card soon as well. The adventure pays for itself. Free flight, and u can sell the lounge passes. Plus you get the points.

I'm not even going to keep it the full year as I will put spend on other cards and can reapply in a year.

Also going to cancel and reapply for high flyer virgin once another 120k offer comes out. It's annoying no android or Apple pay though.

                • @bohn: Yeah good point the flight, lounge passes and bonus points are worth it. Might do that in a month or 2 once I've reached the spend for the ANZ Rewards bonus points.

I hear you about the high flyer. I think I'll get it anyway to get the bonus points. Hopefully by the that time they'll have it but you just never know.

I reckon Westpac are real close to getting Apple Pay as they have nearly every other payment type.

    • It gets a mention :) Not the best, but a choice among others

    • Thanks yeah that is a grest earn rate however it's a bundle and the MasterCard doesn't have Apple Pay. I've already applied to ANZ so I think once I've got that I'll get an AMEX card in a couple of months once my credit score goes back up.

    • Good to know, thanks will remember that when I'm ready to apply for an AMEX card.
