Take it you missed the picture on that listing which says the 13% off ends today. So the price will go up before the ‘sale’ starts tomorrow. Actually the listing says it only has 32 mins left.

Can be combined with the 10% off currently using code POST10 for it to be $805.70 delivered. If you’re spending this much on a monitor you may as well go IPS instead!

        Missed that completely.

Agreed about the IPS over TN.

The XB271HU also regularly has sales around the $750-800 mark as seen by past history.

Cheapest it's been was low $700's, which would make it a good buy

        • You should be buying TN if it's only for competitive gaming and you want the fastest experience.

Or else you need to make a choice between the fastest response and much better colour reproduction in the context of what you play.

          • @Diji1: Well, and price. There are plenty of adequate TN options cheaper than this.

          • @Diji1: Such a small difference in response times and such a large difference in image quality. Tn vs IPS is night and day image quality wise, and unless you are literally top tier competitive gaming (top 100 in the world kind of numbers) the half a frame delay is not going to be noticeable, let alone make a difference.

But that Tn image quality? Is all you'll see when you see a real monitor with accurate colours right next to it.

            • @MeateaW: Response time values don't have a big impact on "input lag" and you're right 3-5ms of delay is imperceptible to most people.

Where the response time does matter is in motion clarity. Response time is a measure of how quickly pixels change colours, this time varies significantly depending on what colour the transition is to/from. 1ms or 4ms GTG is the best case scenario, a full black white black transition can have on the order of 10ms difference between different high end monitors.

Higher response times lead to blurring of moving images that's noticeable even to people who aren't ubermensch top tier gamers. If you're a gunner in a APC in Battlefield V and want to spot infantry lying in rubble as you zoom past them? It'll be easier with a TN screen (in general) however high quality IPS monitors with could over drive settings can do a fine job too.

This gets really complicated when you factor in overdrive and strobing and their interactions with adaptive sync. Go to the blurbusters website if you want to go down the rabbit hole on this.

Good price but I would never go back to TN

    • Agree in principle but to be frank i have a TN that looks better than 2 of my IPS in most respects except viewing angle (which for normal use is kinda irrelevant). Those 2 IPS are older but shows technology progresses and not all are the same within a technology. Looking for a new monitor now actually and it seems variations in quality and models is greater than ever.

  • Yep, IPS version of this monitor is wicked, save a bit more and get that.

  • this Link actually expires today (8/4/19) i just picked up the monitor for this price
