Hi everyone, been looking at this scooter for a while and found this, $521.10 for the scooter and $15 postage. Slightly cheaper than the other deal for the International version and they have the white model available at the same price!

Coupon code is POST10. I don't post deals very often so I apologise if I've missed some fields or filled it out incorrectly!

  • No extra tyres with your deal OP.

    • +2

I did see that! But I personally actually prefer having the AU plug rather than having to use a converter, and spare tyres are good but they're probably going to be sitting in a box somewhere in my garage for a long time before I need to replace them, so there is no need to purchase now when I can spend $20 and get them later when I do need it!

      • +1

Just a heads up, you're much better off getting replacement tyres earlier than later. I read heaps of reviews before buying yesterday and the main con with these is that the tyres can go flat fairly quickly, so having a spare set will always be greatly helpful rather than waiting a while to order them in. You don't need them now, but try and get them soon just in case.

        • +1

Yup, just got my first flat after 2 weeks. Very glad I had the spares and have now also purchased slime to go inside

      • It's a power brick in the international version right? Mine came with the tyres, an EU figure 8 cable. The cost of the AU figure 8 is < $5.

      • Do you have link for $20 tyres inc shipping??

It may be the Australian model, but keep in mind it can only be ridden in a public place legally in Queensland.

In other states you will face fines of up to $600.

    Caveat Emptor.

    • What about all the motorised skate boards I see around these days. Are they legal in Vic? Also, most morons riding them aren't even wearing a helmet.

      • Unfortunately no motorised toys are legal in Vic (except under 10 odd km/h). All come down to luck if you bump into a cop or not.

    • Drive responsibility and the popo doesn't care

      • The fine exceeds $650 in NSW, not worth the risk IMHO.

    • What are the changes the popo will actually fine you for this here in NSW? A $600 ticket would be a major bummer!

      • Riding an unregistered (unregisterable) electronic vehicle.

New cool gadgets to make us lazy and obese and then we spend money on Gym memberships to keep healthy.

Better to buy a bicycle that you can legally use on the road than buy this on uneven pathways.

Added benefit is riding bicycle is healthy.

Disclaimer - Not based on a fact buy only my personal opinion.

Making life easier/funner =/= making us lazier

Not all of us are fat.

    • Electric bikes up to 250 watts are legal, too.

  • Xiaomi Mijia Pro has also been released. https://www.gearbest.com/electric-scooters/pp_009442707209.h…

    • What's the difference in this pro model

      • It has a larger battery for longer range. It is not faster (I've compared their performance side by side). Also has a digital speedo on the pro.

        • motor is slightly more powerful (so presumably better acceleration / hill performance?). It's also slightly heavier.

      • Weighs 14kg too, couple more than normal version

    • Not available in Aus yet?

  • 100kg max weight limit (this is overall payload, so if you are carrying a heavy bag and dressed for winter, you better weigh like 80-90kg).

    • +6

Geez, that's my whole body weight. I'd have to ride around in the buff :-/

      • Do itttt.

      • hahaha… that's better than me! I'd not only need to go buff, but amputate a leg as well!
Oh well… least I'll have a convenient electronic transport option ;).

        • Prosthetic scooter?

  • Did anyone else purchase from this eBay seller? The scooter I received seems to be an unbranded copy / clone of the Xiaomi M365……

    • I ordered one but I’m going to return mine since it doesn’t work with the Mi Home app.

You have likely received a fake product. You should dispute the sale, and insist that any return costs be borne by the seller. You are protected by the Australian Consumer Law in this instance, under the "Major fault" provisions.

I also purchased from this seller and received an obvious fake that is being fraudulently marketed as the real thing.
There are many obvious clues to the fact that this is a knock-off:
        1) No mention of the product name or brand anywhere on the box, or product itself.
        2) Instruction manual makes no reference to the product name.
        3) Instruction manual asks the user to download an app called "minirobot" to view data on a smartphone. The correct app for an authentic product is "Xiaomi Home"
        4) An ugly weld where the diagonal bar meets the vertical stem. In the authentic product this is a single piece of aluminium.
        5) Ugly, mis-shapen weld where the diagonal bar meets the footboard. Unlikely to be safe.
        6) Mijia logo absent from footboard.
        7) Generic charger, produced by an entity called "Shenzen YongLe Tong Electronic Technology Co Ltd". An authentic charger would feature the "Mijia" logo.
        8) Incorrect number of screw holes (4) on rear fender. Also poorly constructed. Authentic product has three screw holes.
        9) Poor construction tolerances – the handlebar screws do not line up correctly and cannot be easily screwed in. Wrong size hex wrench supplied with which to drive the screws. These are not the hallmarks of authentic Xiaomi products.
        10) Strange configuration of power cables running from the handlebars to the front wheel.
I have not looked inside the battery compartment, but it’s highly likely that everything in here – batteries, motor, logic board – is also non-authentic. In summary, I have no confidence whatsoever that this fake product is safe, or that any future problem would be dealt with under warranty, as the manufacturer of the product is unknown.

        Straight up scammers. Avoid.
