  • Shit, I just bought this two days ago for $80 after seeing it sell out on the other sellers.

  • @Ark94 how is the performance

    • It's still in the mail. Haven't got it yet

  • Does this double up as a modem too?

  • I bought 2. They are great. I let them run in AP mode. The connection is very stable. It improves my already great wifi quality. I was using a custom Lenovo router which runs Openwrt. That one is stable 24x7 but the signal sometimes get weak which is unbearable when gaming.

    • However the settings are not great. You can not turn off 2.4GHz and leave 5GHz on work. You can not manually adjust the channel. And I did not see any QOS settings but I guess it has QOS, you just can’t configure it yourself. Overall it provides only the very basic options for you to control and use. And yes, you can’t control the update procedure. It updates itself.

      • Might sound like a strange question but would help me a lot. Can you completely disable the wifi and just use the Ethernet ports (router/switch ) on the back ?

        • According to my memory you can’t. There is not a switch in the settings.

          • @theabyss: It does have QoS but only in router mode… ie. DHCP must be on.

            As an AP it doesnt.

I really dont think they want you to run it as an AP… there's not much to tweak and to be honest, there's not much to do on router mode.

It is worth $60? Yeah. The performance is there. Features, no.

I dont like how you need to pair a phone on initial setup.

            I'm hesistant to buy a 2nd one.

    • Is this AP mode = bridge mode?

      • -1

AP mode = access point. Means devices can connect wireless to the device to share internet or use the LAN.

Bridge mode means NAT is disabled so another device has to control the LAN.

I don't mean either of those. I was asking the abyss if the wifi can be completely disabled.

      • For this specific model, yes. This disabled DHCP and related settings which is not shown in the settings.

      • However if you mean you want it to extend a signal of other wifi. It does not provide this feature.

        • Thanks for the reply. Just using if as a stand alone router does it still function fine with hard wired devices and able to just switch wifi on and off from either switch on the device or in the firmware ?

Can you answer this brao U want to buy one hurry

          • @[Deactivated]: Dont buy one. It sounds like $60 is a lot to you and the configuration will be too much for many people.

            • @tonyjzx: Configs easy fool all I wanna know is can you switch the wifi off .. can't believe I can't find this anywhere in the documentations / forum / YouTube.. hopefully someone here will know

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: You don’t have the ability to turn off wifi.

                • @nightelves: Cheers pimp,

took long enough to get a response.
Thats pathetic you can't turn off the wifi
no wonder these things arent selling

  • How do you get the free shipping?

    • With eBay plus. My bad. Forgot I even had it.

  • Is this like a wifi extender?

    • Mesh wifi. You can use one by itself as a normal router, or hook two of them up together to get better coverage

  • +2

Reviews say they are really rubbish.

    • Compared to other mesh systems from netgear or linksys, yes, they are not that great. Then again, these are at 20% of their price. At this price point, this is better than the competition. It is far better that the basic one from ISP.

      • I expected pretty shitty stuff for $60 so I gambled. Its ok for the money as long as you're ok with the extremely warped setup and the lack of customisation.

Would I buy one? yeah. Would I buy two? Hmm…

        • I bought two to form a mesh wifi. Have solid connection all around the house now compare to when it was a modem/router and extender setup. Lack of customisation doesn’t bother me as long as it’s hitting solid speeds that what I care more. Would buy more if it becomes available.
