Potentially light on bass and treble a bit bright ;)
Who came up this idea to put a speaker inside a light bulb???
It's great to scare away door knockers
A renter.
Is the sound quality any good for anyone who owns one??
I have a cheapie from ebay or some other on line website..
the one I have also dances the light to the music and is colour changeable etc.
the 'white' for just normal lighting isn't that good on my cheapie version, it has a strange hue to it.The kids love it and think its great that they can play music and have the light flash away with different colours.
not real loud but its enough and the sound is ok, im no audiophile or music wanna be, so for me and the kids its great.I would like to think that a JBL version with more RMS than the one I have would make it better.
These things may just be a gimmick, but they serve their purpose.
Couple of points from a review I found online from 2015….
“Probably the nicest sound that comes out of the bulb is the "beep bop" when you turn it on…. After that, it's all downhill.
Despite having what appear to be relatively large speakers placed around the outside rim of the bulb, the sound they emit is tinnier than your iPhone. There is literally no bass or even sense of bass. Despite claiming a frequency range of 100Hz–20kHz, all that appears to come out is mid-range and even that wasn't pleasant.
At this point my wife walks in. "What is that horrible sound?" I felt obliged to stand up for Sengled. "It's not that bad. And the stereo aspect is really good." She looks unpersuaded. "It sounds terrible. I'm going to have to go to another room."”
Seems to be the same price at Amazon AU
Sound quality must be bad
