NBN has finally hit my area. Received a letter from Aussie broadband for the $79 plan reduced to $59 for the first 6 months with the code SAYNOMORE20.
$79 plan is unlimited data on NBN50 with no lock in contract.

I wish i could but optus forces me to move to NBN, and i think Telstra may do the same. Although since he is getting HFC then he should be fine with speeds. I have to move from optus cable 100mbps to FTTN, so i will actually go backwards in speed :(.
It is. But you have to get off Optus/Telstra cable and move to NBN HFC so that you can get less than what you have now for more money - Liberal government.
Yes, as soon as I found out it was re-using HFC it made me sad, as it's a shared medium and they're basically just increasing users so my speed will go down.. for more money. Great.
if ur happy with 2mbps peak hour speeds then fine use cable

NBNCo say I will get HFC (which is what I have already with Telstra). Can I still use my Telstra Cable Modem or do I need to buy one off Aussie? I think Exetel provide free modem which could make things cheaper. Anyone had experience moving from Telstra HFC to NBN?
May be worth noting I also have foxtel which runs over HFC. Got a splitter in my roof.
