  • M.2 ssd, can it be cracked open?

    • -1

      No.

    • +5

Well it can, but then it's…cracked open

      • I can't see any joins or screws on the case, how do you propose getting it open?

        • Hammer

    • -1

Yes you can. But why would you buy a no brand when you can have a 860 EVO for a similar price?

      • EVO is a internal drive, this is portable USB 3 SSD.

        • +1

Chridim is saying there's no point to buying this to crack it open, as you could get an evo for a similar price, without cracking it open.

          • +1

@Mixhael: So that I can have extranal case to put evo in.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: You'd want to make sure you get an enclosure with TRIM support as not all do 😉 SATA enclosures especially.

              • @Clear: Not something I've thought about, thanks Clear. Got any recommendations for a m.2 enclosure?

  • 1to1.5 days battery. Sorry not good enough.

    • +4

Better than others in the same category like the Apple Watch 4 that only offers up to 18 hours. You'd get more out of the stated usage with light use ;)

    • 2 days is max with Wear OS at the moment. You can get 2 weeks with the new Huawei Honor, a week with the new Amazfit, or up to 2 months with the Amazfit Bip.

  • Could I plug the portable SSD into my PS4 Pro and use for decreased load times?

    • Yes you can.

  • Those prices for the ssds are getting close to making flash memory disks being not worth it

    • Pretty much what I was thinking. $97.08 stacked with CR makes 512GB a bargain compared to the OW and others who sell 256GBs for ~$130.

    • SSD's are already cheaper, but they lose out on energy use. So depends on the application.

  • Can I enter discount code after I use the checkout with PayPal button?

    • +1

I don't believe so as that's just an express checkout. Clicking Proceed to Checkout still lets you pay with PP.

      • Cheers thanks!

  • which is the better choice if your system can support both, STmagic SPT31 or STmagic SPT30????

    • STmagic SPT31 is the better one based on the speeds.

      • better read but not write, but i guess read is more important most of the time.

        • Really depends on your use but typically there is more read than write.

  • +1

I think I'd need more than a $25 discount to give up the Australian warranty on the Ticwatch but thanks for posting.

    • +1

You won't get an Australian warranty with Mobvoi as they're dropshipping from HK and their website warranty is restricted to US/HK. Their 'AU Warranty' only covers Amazon which does not sell the C2 ;)

      • Thanks for the reply but it is confusing. The site you linked to under "AU Warranty" says, "This site covers returns for purchases made on Ticwatch official website (www.mobvoi.com)". That is the official site that sells to AU customers: https://www.mobvoi.com/au/products/ticwatchc2

On the FAQ page of that site, it says: "Our prepaid shipping label is provided by our logistics partner Landmark Global and covers 26 countries: Austria, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, Estonia, Spain, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Latvia, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia Slovakia, United Kingdom and United States. If you live in these countries, our support team will email you the prepaid shipping label and an instruction. You just have to print the label, stick it to your package and follow the instruction to send back the product. It’s easy and simple."

        • +1

Yes you're right, however there is no ACL backed warranty as they're not an Australian company. Simply drop shipping.

  • One of these SSDs whilst overkill, would be great for the Shield TV. At this price flash becomes redundant for certain applications.

  • The USB cable that comes with the SPT30, is it TypeC-TypeC or TypeC-TypeA?

    • Should be C to A however I'll put the quiet to Geek and see.
