  • What is the life insurance policy?

    • Don't be silly! Flying is safer than driving :)

      • but not 100% safe..so what is the insurance policy? who pays if I die on your flight coz you cut corners and didn't maintain the aircraft? or the pilot was drunk?

        • +1

Insurance is taken care of by the charter companies that we partner with. Which is part of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority requirements. If there were to be an incident the insurance company and the flight provider would be liable.

Member @stackastics question should be answered, though i suspect it's complicated given your firm does not generally operate the actual flight. There's probably a fair bit of overlap…

    • US 2015 statistical data

Vehicles — 32,166 fatal motor vehicle accidents that lead to just over 35,000 deaths, 1.13 fatalities per 100 million vehicle miles traveled
Aeroplanes — 27 total accidents with no death

      • Love your work :)

Anyone know how long the Blue Mountains flight is in total, the proportion of time actually over the Blue Mountains, and how many people per flight?

    • Hey There, cheers for the question.

The flight time from Bankstown to the Blue Mountains is a bit under 8 mins. So you will spend around 44 mins over the blue mountains. 60-70 Mins in total.
(This is rough depends on winds etc. Will always be longer never shorter.)

The aircraft seat 3, we are offering the discounts to fill the final remaining seat. You will be grouped with two other people.

Any questions let me know :)

      • So you're saying two in the front: pilot + passenger; and two in the back: both passengers?

Are all these seats in the back, or will the distribution be determined by weight of passengers?

Bottom line: everyone has a window?

        • +1

          Correct, two front two back.
Distribution is governed by weight and everyone does get a window seat!

  • OK, i see your firm is a bit like UberPool, except for flights of various kinds. You generally don't operate the flight yourself.

Do you list the actual operator/firm that provides the various flights? That is relevant information if i was to have any chance of assessing flight history.

For example i'd like to avoid outfits like this or this. I'm still astounded the ATSB did not conduct an on-site inspection for that first one.

    • I understand your concern, we do not list our providers on our site. I can assure you we deal with companies that maintain the highest safety standards. Obviously an accident is something we do everything in our power to avoid.

      • I can understand this from a business point of view - listing the operator may facilitate an attempt to bypass your firm. Doesn't help me though if, as i said, i wanted to assess the operator. I'm sure i could pull it off anyway - there's only so many firms operating out of these airports.

But it seems to me that given the contract is likely formed between me and the operator at some stage during the booking process, then their identity will need to be disclosed before actual purchase. Can't usually contract with someone unknown.

Can't complain about the prices though - there's some cheap joy flights to be had there, but i am concerned about the accident rate lately. Comparisons with US car accidents is hardly legitimate given there's a lot less flights than cars on the road.

        • Comparisons with US car accidents is hardly legitimate given there's a lot less flights than cars on the road.

Anyone who knows any rudimentary statistics can tell your statement is false. Accident fatality rate is measured by deaths per passenger-kilometre travelled, which takes into account the varying amount of usage by the different modes of transport. This is the measure used by the Fortune article.

          • @alvian: I got an 'A' for statistics, and don't care for US stats.

@[Deactivated]: Shifting the goal post now, are we?

              • @alvian: I got an 'A' for shifting goal posts too, and still don't care for US stats.

  • You say max passenger weight of 130kg (that's massive), but some of the listings show 110kg.

Which is it, or does it vary?

    • In response to the first question, if you do actually want to know these details give me a call and we can discuss it 07 3040 5900.

Weights depend on the maximum takeoff weight of the aircraft, different aircraft are used on different flights.

      • Which first question?

        • This one:

"I can understand this from a business point of view - listing the operator may facilitate an attempt to bypass your firm. Doesn't help me though if, as i said, i wanted to assess the operator. I'm sure i could pull it off anyway - there's only so many firms operating out of these airports.

          • @airshare: That was me commenting, rather than asking a question.

However i will ask if i am making a contract with your firm or the operator of the service? That's an entirely legitimate question to ask.

Note there are guidelines on responding to questions. I'm not suggesting you're breaching it, but generally answers should be provided so all members can see. That's one of the main drivers of this site.

@[Deactivated]: It is with the operator and we are the broker.

              • @airshare: Thanks. Good luck with it all.
