Been searching for a Micro-ATX case for a while. I was looking at the Fractal Design Meshify C Mini until I came across this one. It was on the MSY clearance list with no stock available at any of the usual suspects (Centrecom, Scorptec etc), but putting this through PC Parts Picker showed that Amazon had it in stock.

From the reviews I've read, it's a very good value case. Has a magnetic mesh that you can take off for easy cleaning and looks pretty cute. The window is a plastic transparent panel.

Newegg is selling for $77 (+ tax & delivery)

Don't forget to get cashback, Cashrewards (5% | $59.40) or Shopback (6% | $58.78)

Prime only deal since shipping is $115.33

… or just join for a month if you've already used the trial

    • +1

      Well Prime is $6 mate.

    • +2

At $6.99 for one month, it's still cheaper to get this + Prime. It brings the total up to $69.52 for a quality budget case and tbh, I love Prime membership.

I'm looking for a mini ITX case with a good handle. Can't find much out there in stock

Hey mate I strongly encourage you to check out the ML08 from Sivlersstone. Going for about $99
      https://www.silverstonetek.com/product.php?pid=607&area=en

I built my mini-ITX with it a few years ago and it is a dream. Still running strong and great build quality

Went into my history and found where I had posted my build. A few things have changed but you get the general idea. If you do go with this case I highly recommend getting the Noctua CPU cooler I've used, it's performance for a small size is outstanding.

        Looks nice, is it silent?

        • It runs near totally silent. Everything about the build far exceeded my expectations.

Here's the link to PCCG they've got it in stock at $99

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me it looks like a 1970's Ford Fairmont. Not favourable.

        SFX PSU(non-standard) and ugly..

        • Can't win them all.

    • Thanks guys for all the recommendations, checking them out now! :)

  • Cases have come a long way since I last built. Only downside (subjective) is the wonky place of the front ports. Great price though for a decent case brand (my cm scout still chuggin).

    • Yep! The front ports almost ask for the case to be put on the desk

+1 - bought new components to replace my 2010 Phenom 955BE (still going repurposed as a home PC). My 18YO told me to get a new case, no use keeping the Antec Sonata. "That was top shelf you know". Well the TT Versa H17 for $49 is a vast improvement, just so easy for a new build.

Jow did this not get more upvotes. The shipping on the case around au would be atleast $30 so from us its a bargain.

I didn't know how to check regular shipping on Amazon, but estimates from Newegg are $50 to $70 for shipping alone

Without prime the shipping is $115.33

      • +1

Lol but no1 in there right mind would pay that when they can just buy prime.

    • +1

Relax, the deal was only submitted at 12AM today (AEST).

      • Lol?

        • What's questionably funny?

          • @magic8ballgag: Being told to relax because i pointed out what made this deal so good. A factor some wouldnt have considered.

    • I know yeah. This is fantastic value for a 300 litre case.

  • Anyone know if you could recase a SFF PC into this?

    • +1

Pre-built consumer SFF PCs tend to have propriety components (motherboard, power supply etc.), so probably not.

      • Yeah true, I've heard of people doing it but never what they used or how.

        • As far as I know most have just hacked together parts to make it work, or simply migrated some of the core components to a custom case.

          • @magic8ballgag: Tempted to with my old dell xps….. but many components are after-market in it anyway….

I’m currently looking at doing a build for a pc for my first real gaming rig. Looking to spend $2,500 and was wondering if I should get this as I like the idea of having a portable pc that can be moved from games room to lounge room.

Also for max ozbargain savings if you have used your trial of prime you can do a week trial for $2 and then cancel ;)

    • If you want to move it often I'd look for a mini-ITX build which is a fair bit smaller than micro-ATX. There are a few earlier comments here discussing the SilverStone ML08 which a friend of mine has and he is really happy with it. You should be able to get quite a decent build with that budget.

    • $2500 you can pretty much get anything on the market with some very, very good specs. I wouldn't suggest a cheap case like this one, maybe something like the NZXT H400/H500? The Fractal Design Meshify C Mini is also one of the highest rated mATX cases. You can pretty much get whatever you want haha

Also this case is too small to have a radiator at the top of the case, if you're planning to overclock, this isn't the case for you. It's pretty limited space wise

    • sounds like you want a laptop but there are disadvantages with gaming laptops.

    • I dragged my gaming laptop from room to room before I got sick of doing it. It was like, walk from office to lounge room, plug in charger, turn Bluetooth on, pair Xbox controllers. Then sometimes it wouldn't work. Plus the laptop would throttle and get hot etc.

I got an Xbox One s for 299 and the plug and play factor was worth it. If you had the option I would get a full size computer for your office or whatever and an Xbox for the living room (or PS4 or whatever)

  • I'm looking for it to run games at 4K as I currently have the monitor and tv to support it. Not sure if I would need to overclock it to be honest.

Though I'm not sure if I should wait until say middle of the year for parts to go on sale. obviously looking at a 2080 for the graphics card and I7 or maybe I9 if the price is right.

Like I said I would love to have the functionality of moving it from room to room and the ML08 looks perfect for that.

    • I'm looking for it to run games at 4K as I currently have the monitor and tv to support it. Not sure if I would need to overclock it to be honest.

You'll probably have to up your budget if you're expecting a decent gaming experience at that resolution.

      • What would you recommend the budget to be then?

      • Piggybacking off this, I'd recommend just getting a regular case, not this budget one because in order to get pretty good fps you'd most likely have to overclock.

  • I assume this won't fix standard ATX main boards?

    • +1

Its literally in the opening post, 5 words in.

  • I haven't built a computer in years… much less Micro-ATX!

Super keen to start again though if anyone has a good guide on what is "value" these days :)

    Cheers!

  • I had a browse on other cases and came across this one:

    https://www.amazon.com.au/EVGA-DG-85-VR-Ready-Gaming-100-E1-…

how exactly would a case be "VR-Ready"? (or not-ready for that matter) :)

    • Hdmi input… Just a convenience thing but not worth it.

  • Is this a good case to build a new gaming PC?

Was looking to buy the RTX 2070 as well, haven’t decided on a mother or CPU yet but will it support that?

    • I'll be building mine in that, but because this is a matx case, it'll limit your options of motherboards

      • i see, dont really know much about motherboards, any board you'd recommend for this?
was looking to get these RAM as well-> https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/440717

and probably a Intel Core i7 8th Gen, afaik a 550-600W PSU is sufficient enough and already got HDs and SSDs so dont want to change those

  • Has this post expired?
When I go to the Deal page, it shows a USD$198 item, without Prime support for shipping either.

    • Not exactly expired, but it's out of stock at $63 now. Still, gonna mark it, thanks for the heads up!
