Would be a little wary about buying a GP7 at this stage, a lot of reports about battery issues, draining overnight etc. Also best price for GP7 Black is around $440 to date.

    • Ty for the heads up!

    • I used one on a snowboarding trip. Purchased GP7 Black for around $450 from Officeworks.
Also purchased the dual battery charger and an additional battery (Total of 3 batteries, one with the GP, one with the battery charger and one stand alone).

Broke first time I took it in water - went snorkelling to maybe top depth of 5m. Water must have gotten into somewhere, not too sure where. Officeworks replaced it on the spot.

Second one I took on a snowboarding trip. Worked fine for 3 consecutive weeks. Somehow a battery disappeared, but not entirely sure GoPro is to blame for that. Haven't taken it in water yet, I guess I should soon.

Hope this small sample size helps.

    • Just adding my experience, I got the new hero black 7 for Xmas from this store and have used it heaps. Just took it hiking and snorkelling at Great Keppel Island with absolutely no issues at all. Have loved using it and have had no problems.

Just like any electronic product, there's going to be some bad samples, and the people having issues with it are more likely to speak up. The GP7 is crazy good though and I would encourage anyone to give it a go. If there's issues then it's annoying, but that's what the warranty is for.

Definitely agree that $440 - $450 is the price point to aim for though.

  • Does anyone have experience of JB price matching Cameras Direct?

  • Hey rep, any good deals on the Mavic Air and/or Mavic Air Fly More Combo?

    • +1

If it helps I got the Air Fly More combo from d1store (Authorised DJI retailer) last week for $1399. On their site it has a "Best Price Guarantee" and you can contact them about a better price. I just mentioned I found one on ebay for $1362 and no questions were asked.

      • thanks for the tip!

  • Good deal!
I've got a Mavic 2 Pro and that camera is just incredible for photos and videos. Honestly one of the easiest drones I've flown.
    I'm now looking for a second one for business;
Is there any chance we can get the $431 discount on the Mavic 2 Pro off the actual RRP? ($2499)
$2068 would be a deal and a half!

  • Should I wait for the price to drop for GP7 Black? Is it worth buying at this price? Are some of the issues resolved in the latest versions of GP7 Black?

    • Under $500 is the way to go, $450 even better. I've never had any issues with battery drain or glitches etc, and the new firmware continues those results. Just make sure you use one of their recommended SD cards listed on their website and use the official batteries and you'll be fine. Would also recommend putting the firmware update file on the SD card and then updating the camera straight from the card, makes it more seamless than wifi update.

      • Do you think a deal will come up better than this before May? Going to japan early may and would love to get one before then.

  • GP7 Black is awesome. Used it all weekend on Rottnest Island. Snorkeling, swimming, bike riding. I've got the dual battery charger and 3 batteries. Upgraded from a very problematic Hero4 Silver. Big improvement.

  • Mavic Pro 2 and Flymore kit for $2656 from Camera Direct - can you tell me when this expires, OP? Cheers

    • $2,906.00 so i guess it's expired.

im looking for a deal on this too.
