And just like that HN lands a knock out blow to TGG.
Missed it :( Back to 3996
Tried to get them to match B8 but they refused to give fuel card.
I’ve had this TV for a couple of months. Great picture quality, can’t say I like android TV much though.
It kills the bargain hunter in me to say that I got it from HN for $2300, luckily the blow was softened by using three lots of $750 gift cards purchased from the amex Domayne deal which made the net price $1850. If I had of held the gift cards longer I would have been looking at $1670 plus $100 gift card. That would have been a deal! Anyway no regrets, well not many, it’s a shame I can’t predict the future. This is a great deal!
How is it for gaming or any negative comments about it or nitpicks.
Trying to compare the main high tier tv's now for maybe a purchase later in the year.
Currently looking at NU8000, X9000F / X90F, N7, P7 and a few others.
Main use case is pc monitor so OLED is out.
Then next main use case is pc gaming so low input lag and high refresh rate is a must.
Aiming for 4k gaming and 4k all kinds of media watching.
Honestly free to air TV usage is last but still quite important.. but I will probably streaming stuff from SBS on Demand or Netflix more often than free to air garbage.
This site gives you heaps of info about TVs, https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900f
I personally have the x85, bought it a year ago on a sale(at Harvey Norman too!), it's been really good, both at gaming and TV. I would always pick Sony over Samsung because I think Sony's pictures are more natural, have deeper blacks, and have built-in chromecast, very useful when comes to mirroring screens. The thing I find annoying is, sometimes when coming on from suspension/sleep, it hangs, then it needs to reboot, it's sporadic, I'm not sure what's causing it. And also, you would think that being a sony TV, chrome browser would be default but no, it comes shipped with Opera(what the hell), you can however download Chrome(albeit a bit hacky)
I got free delivery and a free surge-protect power extension, could try your luck getting some freebies.
Hope this helps.
Which has more better build quality.. just in case someone bumps it or moves it irresponsibly.
Durable items are important for the use case scenario where I will put this as it will be in the common room which stuff gets moved around a lot.. but my options are watch regret but something more cheaper to replace or go for something really nice and essentially "idiot proof" it with all sorts of straps and maybe even some extra outer layer protection to protect from dinks, bumps and scratches.
@AlienC: Wow, this will be a tough one to answer.
From my experience, the build's pretty good, the stand is pretty steady, not that easy to move. Maybe you can look at mounting it to a wall.
Sounds like it's a question you need to ask yourself, if I'm spending that kind of $$, I will be taking good care of it. If it's $500-$700, sure I'd be glad to trash it.
I got a good price for thee X85, think it was $1100. At that time, I was considering the Hisense because they were doing heavy promo during the World Cup and offering good prices, the price difference meant that I would be paying something like $700 for a, I guess a near 'equivalent' in terms of specs but I went for Sony instead and have no regrets.
I don’t game so no idea there. I mainly do streaming service watching - Netflix, Kayo Sports, etc. The cricket has looked great on it this summer. Re free to air it’s ok, the dedicated HD channels look good, channels like the ABC news channel look terrible on it.
As I mentioned I don’t like android TV much, probably because I have Apple TV 4K and am used to it more.
It is great for gaming. I play battlefield1 on it for around 60minutes everyday. There is no input lag. It recognises game signal and adjusts settings accordingly to minimise lag. You will not notice any ghosting or lag. Excellent TV for gaming. The overall picture quality is great. The only negative is android tv. It is not very responsive and the apps available are not that great. Apart from that no complaints with picture quality. HD and 4K both look mesmerising. I bought 55” for 1700$ during Christmas sales.
I bought a 75" X9000F about a month ago. Game on it nearly every night using PS4 Pro. No input lag that I've been able to notice, even when not using game mode.
Any chance you could check the max power usage on the label on the back and how is the sound. I am thinking of using the TV speakers as I don't need large sound but just decent quality.
@AlienC: I'm not at home right now so can't check the back of the TV for you, but have you taken a look at this page? Are these the numbers you're after? https://www.sony.com.au/electronics/support/televisions-proj…
I've got mine outputting sound through my home theatre, so I haven't actually tried listening to it through the TV's built-in speakers, so I can't really help you there, unfortunately.
Just got this deal in Rundle Mall SA. Bloke threw in free delivery to get me across the line.
buy him dinner
Seriously the 75" p7 for the same price is a much better option
How so?
this or the hisense 65 p7. nearly 1k different. worth? very hard to decide
Went ahead and bought it. got a further 59 dollar discount for covering delivery charges! used all my 1500 domayne gift card. total cost is just around 1700.
How does this TV compare to Samsung 65’ NU 8000?
Hi guys
What is the typical warranty period you got on this bad boy? Is it 2 years or 5 years?
I’d appreciate your input on this.
Thanks.
Nice find! 75X9000F is also now $3395 + $150 Fuel card, they're finally being competitive!
