DJ Hero 2 with TWO Turntables for $40. or Less. PS3/Xbox/Wii. Australian Stock

231

Apologies for the late notice, but I only spotted this one today. ENDS TOMORROW, Sunday May 1st

Get down to EB and you can find DJ Hero 2 + Turntable bundled for $78. With the two for one deal, you'll get two copies of the game and two turntables.
Now, the trick here is that the game is worth $38 trade-in, as the GAME ONLY. So, trade in the second copy of the game in the same transaction and keep the second turntable.

Which mean you pay $40 for one game and two turntables.

Closest comparison is JB HIfi for one game with one turntable for $49.
Otherwise the regular EB price for one game with two turntables is $108

ALSO
If you've got an EDGE card, you get 20% more trade-in credit (you'll pay $32.40)
If you sell the second turntable as well, for $20-$30, you'll get a ridiculously good price.
You can also do this with the $108 game+two turntable bundle. Works out marginally better, but probably not worth the fuss of onselling that many turntables.

Note that whilst there was a thread about the EB 2-for-1 offer, it didn't mention DJH2 and the only games that were mentioned were not good value - so the thread was heavily negged. This is ridiculously good value and since it ends on MAY FIRST (TOMORROW!) it needs to headline as it's own deal, so that people can actually notice and benefit from this bargain.

    Two turntables and a microphone?

    • Sorry I forgot about that - the microphone is only included in the $108 bundles.

    • Two turntables, speakers, and a mixer?

  • I obviously missed something :/

What's this EB 2-for-1 offer you mention? Are there details about it somewhere?

    • If you check their website you'll see it all in their catalogue. It's buy one get one free (same or lesser value). There's a list of applicable games, but this is literally the only good deal in it.

Misleading post. If it needs some kind of "trick" or scam to get the advertised price, put that price in the body, not the title.

    • +4

hardly a trick, you buy the games, you trade one back.

      • it's not a scam, EB will be happy to take the game off you. you could always do it at another store, etc. nothing illegal about it, it's up to the franchisee's discretion.

  • You still end up paying $78.00. When you trade it back they don't give you cash, just store credit. You can't do it in 1 transaction as you can't trade in something you haven't actually bought/paid for yet.

    • Not if you do it all in the same transaction, but this may depend on if they let you or not.

    • you can trade-in for cash. just -20%

        Not at all Eb Games.

        • yeah but just saying that you can, some people don't know that.

    • +2

      No, you don't pay $78.

I specifically said you trade it back "In the same transaction". I've done this several times at several EB's. I've even asked staff "is it ok to do this" - all reports say YES.

No scams and no tricks required! I understand the method may surprise you guys, but it's not worth negging the deal just because you didn't realise that EB is happy to do this.

I'll admit that EB isn't always consistent. You get some weird crap from staff sometimes. If you get the store manager from hell, go to a different store.

    $38 trade in = $38 non-exchangeable store credit

Edit: And what 2 for 1 deal ?

    • +1

Nope. Read my responses to the other comments. Store credit not involved. You misread the post.

You'll see the 2-for-1 stock on the table at the front of EB, where they always put the stock from their current catalogue/deal. There's a variety of games in the 2-for-1 list, but EB have jacked up the price of all of them, making this the only item of real value there.

      • It was more just confusement that EB Games would let you trade in something that you haven't bought.
        Neg removed.

  • im gonna try it 2moro and let you guys know

Come on this is still a good deal just needs to be rephrase

    • Yea true, the real cost is $78, but you get DJ Hero 2 with two turntables and $38 EB store credit.

I think it's wrong to say that it costs $40 as most people wouldn't conisider $38 worth of credit at EB, the same as $38 cash.

      • Put the credit on eBay and it's still a bargain.

      • Nope. Read my responses to the other comments. Store credit not involved. You misread the post.

Can't you also trade in the other copy and get two turntables for $2?

    • Lol. I suppose you can. But I don't know many who would want two turntables but no game…

It'd mean you bought DJ Hero 1 as a game only, and weren't interested in buying DJ Hero 2 at all.

Or you were Brodening it and flogging all the turntables on Ebay,

      • Say, where did you find the 2 for 1 deal?

Just in case anyone still doesnt believe what justtoreply said, "IT IS TRUE" i have done it multiple times with this sale and saved myself a lot since i didnt want another game. If your unsure take two of the same game and say u want to trade the other in at that same time. Ill let you know a secret though, ask about the trade in price of the games in the same price bracket as the one you want to get cause there is a big difference in trade in prices sometimes and can get $10-$20 more for some titles.

If they say no they cant do that, tell them that they can and it will help with their trade target and you will get the sale

Also the since you are trading in at the same time the trade credit comes straight off the purchase price so you do only pay $40 for this instance. You can also do it with console deals as well to make them cheaper

  • Some people didn't read it properly.
Thank you for posting this deal, EB has a lot of offers that Ozbargainers can take advantage of!

There is also a trick I've picked up if anyone just happens to not get their trade in on the same transaction and happen to get store credit.

Step #1. Purchase something with your store credit. (Make sure to receive your receipt for this transaction)
Step #2. If this game is a console game, you can choose to take it home, finish it and bring it back within the first seven days of purchase (as this trick is using the 7 day return policy).
Step #3. When you return the game, immediately place cost of the transaction onto a pre-order.
Step #4. Go back and ask to cancel the pre-order, receive full cash back.

On your receipt when you purchase something with store credit, it specifically says you have purchased with store credit. When you return the product and then place the price onto another product in the same transaction, they refund the transaction as cash, and it says so on the receipt.

  • Thanks a lot…. I just did it @ eb bondi. Got the one for wii.. And I traded both games for 38.50 each in the same transaction (just say u don't want the game). So works out u paying 1 dollar for the 2 dj controller. I also traded my old dj hero 1 game for 25.30. So now I got 24.30 credit to spend @ ebgames :)

  • confirmed working today :)

  • sounds like a hell of a lot of arsing around for a fairly crappy game

  • this is still available today

and just an FYI, for some reason when I went to return my games. they refunded me $48.80 for each. and ended up walking out with 2x turntables and $5.60 in credit.. =D

but then I got someone else to try that and they said they cant do it =(

went to another store and they refunded $33 per game. not as good

    • So when is the 2 for 1 deal going to expire??

      • It wasn't supposed to be on today. Should have actually been finished as per the original post (may 1st).

I won't be watching this thread anymore mate.
