Can be bought on amazon for $1999 before 6% shopback cash back. So $1879 after cash back.

No deal from me I'm afraid.

I just got a new optoma UHD300x from Germany amazon for $1274. Australian retailers put too much of a premium on these goods.

How does Amazon go with after sales support and making sure you get the most out of it. $20ppphhf

I think you'll find middle man is where most markup is.

Online imports come at a cost though.

    • Do you have the link for that Optoma?

$1274? lol! May I know how? It is 850 on website I am interested.

      • $850? lol! Link pls.

        • 850 euros…sorry mate

@Dienk: Amazon Germany. 823 Euros in December which was actually $1300 at time of purchase due to exchange rates. My parents are taking it over for me next month.

However i realise my way is cheating but you can use a freight forwarded to send it to Aus from either Germany or UK (Amazon Germany send to UK)

            https://www.forward2me.com/pricing/?country=AU&weight=7

TNT economy express (5-6 days) for 70 pound. But there are cheaper ways of shipping it, that was just a first freight forwarder quote i got.

You'd still come out significantly ahead.

This one on ebay is $1500 including the $75 discount code https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Optoma-E1P0A15WE1Z2-UHD300X-data…

Other options are you buy through amazon 3rd party. Contact seller first and explain you will have a freight forwarder pick up, then you buy through amazon to get protection.

Amazon warehouse (France, Germany, UK) have good deals on 2nds in top class condition. Usually bashed boxes, or someone bought and sent it back. These are also an option.

            • @KRM123: Got it. If it is shipped, we have to include the gst and price for shipping

              • @Dienk: That ebay link shows $1511 all up on ebay including shipping. Usually ebay adds GST but doesn't seem to here. I doubt customs have time to check everything coming into country.

                • @KRM123: Ah sure. I meant if comes from Germany. I will have a look on this one on eBay

    • And how did you get it shipped to Australia? Amazon Germany does not ship directly.

      • Actually they do for some items, even when it says they don't. Check out some of the old Denon receiver deals last year. Amazon de said no shipping, but everyone's orders arrived anyway.

What is the minimum / optimum / maximum recommended sizes for this specific model rep?

    Found from page 60" to 200" / 300"

That price is 75 inch 4k territory for a TV.

I know it is portable but still need to budget for the other stuff needed for a decent projector setup.

If you're interested in a TV-like image from a projector and a much bigger screen than a TV take a look at ALR screens such as the ones at https://darkenergyscreens.com.au

      • thanks

      • Um, they cost more than a decent projector !

How much does a 120 inch tv cost?

    • +2

For a clear image you can project anywhere between 60" and 200" (which is of course the recommended range to stick to), however the projector is capable of projecting from a minimum of 30" to a maximum of 300".

If you're wanting a screen larger than a 75" TV, to find a TV bigger than this for the price of a projector and screen can be a challenge.

The point of projection is to get a massive screen without having to fork out massive dollars, and this being a 4K HDR projector for the price its a great deal. In terms of getting a screen we can work out a deal for you with a screen and projector and depending on the size you're after it may be able to fit in your budget.

Give us a call and we'd be more than happy to help you out :)

      • I'm interested in a 200" screen size but the use case will be for gaming so lag is a huge factor.

How much would a 200" setup roughly cost
