    there is a spelling error but, in general, that rule is just plain wrong. in fact, there are more cases where 'i' comes before 'e' after 'c'.

        the ones they list:
        species
        concierge
        caffeine
        weird
        glacier
        madeira
        hacienda
        being

        actually they describe it as there being more exceptions to the rule rather than what i said (more spellings of 'cie'). they claim there are 21x more words that break the rule than don't. they also claim it is no longer taught in british schools
