  • I mentioned this in the other Rainbow Six deal:

Looks like Ubisoft have overhauled their editions on the Steam Store. (Starter completely removed)
Sale now lasts until February 19th.

    Standard Edition - A$ 14.97 (A$ 29.95)
    Deluxe Edition - A$ 17.98 (A$ 17.98)
    Gold Edition - A$ 49.47 (A$ 89.95)
    Ultimate Edition - A$ 82.47 (A$ 149.95)

    • Thanks - linked that deal in the description.

  • Any reason to buy anything other then standard edition?

    assuming I like the game?

    • The more expensive editions get you more operators unlocked from the start. You can still unlock them by playing, but the higher editions significantly reduce the grind.

      • Whats the operator unlock rate like? would I unlock any during trial weekend?

        • Google it, someone is bound to have done the maths. Im not sure if this is true but I think all the operators are temporarily unlocked during the free weekend.

If you end up buying the standard edition you get all the standard ops, 16 of them, and you have to grind your way up to the DLC ops if you don't want to buy them.
For me it takes me anywhere from 10-20hrs per operator just doing causal and completing the challenges.
I believe all the original ops are unlocked for the free weekend
I'd definitely give it a shot if I was you
But if you were to buy the game just know that you can't upgrade in the future without starting again

Worth noting that Boomerang throwing, dingo wielding operators are hitting the game soon!
