First time posting a deal here, so be gentle with me :P. Not sure if this is a sale or error or what. I've had my eye on the Band of Brothers / The Pacific collection for a while but it never seemed to be on sale. Just noticed today that it's selling for $29.99 (HD only, no SD option). The two series are listed individually for $34.99 each in HD, so you can get both of them for less than the price of buying either one separately.
Band of Brothers / The Pacific - Full Season HD $29.99 @ Google Play

Thanks. I should watch The Pacific again. I raved about Band of Brothers back in the day (and still think it's fantastic), but I just couldn't get into The Pacific at all at the time.
For a download??!
You can buy a physical blu-ray box set for not much more. e.g JB $48, buy 2 box sets, 2nd 1/2 price.
Loved BoB. Is the sequel as good?
Not quite as good but it's very very good. BoB is one of the best miniseries of all time so it's a tough measure to match.
BoB is awesome. THe Pacific…not so much.
I have rewatched the Pacific two times since it was first aired. I have enjoyed it more each time :)
Personally, I think it had one story too many in it which didn't allow more focus to be gained on the other two.
@bbunch: Yeah, The Pacific is very good, but not as good as BoB. I think the difference is that BoB keeps most of the main characters together for pretty much the full series,so you get to spend enough time with all of them. The Pacific had different people in different places at the same time which made it harder to keep track of who was who and who was where etc. The end result being that the characters were less memorable.
The other thing I really liked about BoB was the way it was interspersed with interviews with the real life people that the actors were portraying, which I thought helped connect it to the real people and events. The Pacific didn't have that - I assume there weren't enough of them left by the time they made it.
@AngusD: Couldn't have said it better myself.
@bbunch: The Pacific for me was hard to get into for some reason (maybe my expectations were to high after BoB). But after a few attempts and once I got into it I really liked it. As others have said not as good as BoB but still up there in the 8/10 category.
these two and generation iron i re watch every year or so. always good. i'd buy the physical disk over a digital copy though.
Generation Kill is also a great one.
What's Generation Iron? Googled it and it's a bodybuilding doco? :S
Unless you meant Generation Kill (Excellent) or Generation War (meh)?
generation kill i meant, no idea why i was thinking generation iron. apparently HBO were making a ww1 doco but i haven't heard anything since 2015.
I have the old collectors edition tin with DVDs for BoB. Am tempted to get this just for the ease of access.
Shame the third one they were going to make got canned.
The first one got canned too. haha
I have followed the making of these closely over the years, what was the first one? Unless you are just being funny :)
It was sold in a "collectors" tin can, as brannor mentioned :)
Funny? I'm hilarious.
@bargaino: :) Yes, I know the one. I bought it for my dad.
Got both titles in Blu-Ray back in the day and yes, it also took me awhile to warm up to the Pacific. Not sure why but, any discounts on The Wonder Years boxset that anyone may know about? Love that series.
The Bluray dual pack is $35.24 at Amazon AU.
A better buy with full bitrate, especially for Prime members with free shipping.

Edit: Reviews give the video transfer high marks, and it has DTS-HD Master Audio.Yeah, the physical will always be better than the digital version in terms of quality (although I don't know if the quality on Google etc is better if you download it and play it back locally rather than stream it?). I already own both of these on BluRay myself.
But I'm always on the lookout for cheap digital options, too (I find it hard to believe that some companies still sell BluRays without including a code for a digital version with it). Both for the convenience of having them always on tap for when I'm too lazy to dig out a disc, but mainly so that I can download some stuff to my tablet to watch when travelling etc. So yeah, there's a time and a place for both physical and digital media - generally I'll watch the Blu if I'm at home, but that's obviously not an option for travelling.
An amazing series, especially Band of Brothers.
