What Are Your Favourite Xiaomi Products?

Hi OzB,

It's no secret that we love Xiaomi products here at Ozbargain.

Just curious to know what Xiaomi products you have at home and which are your favourites?

I'm still a bit new to the world of Xiaomi so wanted to know if there was something I'm missing out on that would improve my life.

Currently I have the powerbank, yeelights, mijia lamp, and the Mi In-Ear Headphones. Love them.

Don't worry, I am not a Chinese spy. Although, that's what a Chinese spy would say.

  • My Xiaomi list nears 100 but currently my favourite is the Xiaomi purifier. Tilted with my blanket half covering it has created an awesome bed fan for these horrible heatwaves.

  • vacuum and purifier are good!

    • The much hyped robot vacuum is definitely next on my list. Stalking the price like a hawk at the moment.

      • Make sure you get gen 1, as the gen2 with the mop isn't as good…… or so the reviews say!

and the mop is useless if you have mixed carpet and hard floors too :/

      • I’m in the same boat. What’s the cheapest you’ve found so far, currently? Are you looking at the 2nd gen?

        • I've been tracking this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/product/xiaomi-mi-robot-vacuum

According to that the best price was November last year during Black Friday:
          1st Gen $308.95
          2nd Gen $432.95

I was initially looking at 2nd gen since my house will be mostly tiles so the mopping function would come in handy. However, I've read it's not worth the extra money so I may just grab 1st gen.

Gearbest currently has the 1st gen for around $428.
Any upcoming deals around $320, I'll probably bite.

          • @Hunter14: Ah ok, I’m after gen 2.

            gen 1 $350? with code PLACE10

            • @Pecan: Thanks for that but I'll probably wait a bit longer as my house won't be ready until a few more months. Hopefully something cheaper pops up before then.

What's the lowest price you're willing to pay for 2nd gen?

              • @Hunter14: The lowest price I’m willing to pay? $0 ;)

The highest however…I don’t know. Cheapest I can find for the AU version right now is $475. It’s higher than I like given it’s been a lot cheaper previously, but I’m getting impatient lol.

                • @Pecan: LOL, touche.

Well now you're stuck in that now or later conundrum that many others have faced. Murphy law dictates that if you wait, a bargain won't appear for ages. If you buy, for sure one will pop up tomorrow.

You got to decide if that $42 savings is worth your time of checking for deals everyday.
However, as an Ozbargainer you will be checking for deals everyday anyway.

                  • @Hunter14: Yep, my thoughts exactly. I'll wait until the current eBay promo ends and see what's available then.

    11 power banks and counting.

    • Haha, seriously what do you do with them all?

      • iPhone, iPad, android, dash cameras, led strobe lights, boost converters, etc.

        They make great presents too.

  • My Mi A1 phone closely followed by my gen 1 vacuum.

  • I have been a Xiaomi supporter ever since I adopted the Redmi 1S a number of years ago. I have a Redmi Note 5 Pro as my primary phone and think it is utterly fantastic. Great performance, incredible camera and an insanely cheap price tag. That being said, I recently picked up a Mi Box S and I am very disappointed. It has crashed after a week of use and is stuck in a boot loop. According to various forums this seems to be a common problem. It's a shame as its the only blemish on an otherwise spotless purchasing history.

  • Xiaomi Mi Band 2. Can't fault it.

    • My band’s inside piece became loose after about half a year…and it lost itself somewhere from my walking hand swinging motion…never to be found again

      • Lucky a replacement band costs like $1.50

        • Nah it’s the inside piece that’s lost…

Edit: I would imagine the band is the problem and I should have replaced that. there’s also this hard plastic rim thing between the inside piece and the band, not sure if that’s causing the problem.

        • I think zeggie means that they still have the band, it's the main part that was lost.

          • @pjetson: Yeah. The most important part.

  • +1

The smart bidet was my overall best purchase of any product in 2018.

  • +1

    Mijia pen :D
I would love to get the smart bidet but incompatible with my toilets unfortunately.

  • Smart loo, hubs, temp sensors, mi control power boards and round smart switches. Just ordered more 4 way control power boards, more switches and the Kano 10 pack of pens.
