As someone who hasn't seen/played anything SteinsGate, can you start with this game? Also, is it just a regular visual novel?
You'd better start with the first one. This one is a continuation of the bad ending from the first game.
You would probably get way more out of playing the first one first. It's a visual novel with time travel elements, There much less ecchi in this vs most Vn's.
The characters are interesting, The plot is interesting, The music and art is excellent. If you don't want to play stein's gate 1 on ps3 I think Steins gate elite should be coming this year or you could play it on PC.
Because of experiencing this time travel story, I was unable to enjoy Interstellar at the theatres.

Great Game! Hard to say if I like it equally or just slightly less then the first but an excellent sequel none the less.
