  • Anyone have any idea if these work well with the shield. Ideally would be able to play 4k video from the drive no problem.

    • +1

These can read at about 120MB/s max so this would be great for playing your 4K videos.

  • Thanks OP, i missed out last time, got one this time…thanks again

  • Is there any way to create Amazon specific alerts?

  • I used to not believe the Seagate rumours about Disks that fail. Then I bought two and one failed within 2 months. Never again.

  • PSA: I bought this same product (also from a similar deal at Amazon) after 6 months it's broken down. The reason is that the metal connector connecting the USB cord and the Hardrive is shamefully thin. As a result, it keeps intermittently disconnecting causing an unsafe disconnection. And, as was the case for myself, this damaged the hardrive to such an extent that it no longer functions.

Edit: Just saw @Wallyt99's post. Yep, guess i'm not the only one.

    • Were you always unplugging the cable? I try keep my cable plugged in at all times. I had something similar happen to me with a WD drive.. I don’t think it’s just an issue with these Seagate ones. I’ve bought two recently after having used WD my entire life but got sick of 3 failing in the past few years. Haven’t had an issue with the Seagate yet and they’re a lot faster with transferring files than my WD 2tb & 4tb

      • I have both WD and Seagate. It's clear to anyone who has both to understand that the metal connector for the Seagate is significantly thinner and thereby more fragile than the WD.

        • Not sure what drives you have but I just compared my Seagate with my WD’s and they look the same, maybe a tiiiiiny bit slimmer
