  I really with they had OCE servers. That's always been my gripe with FFXIV. The latency to the NA or EU servers is incredibly punishing in this MMORPG.

    Use the Japan servers, you'll get a much better ping, usually 80-150ms. Tonberry is the most populated with English speakers.

        80-120 is easily playable.

          @smpantsonfire: Not sure why you're being downvoted. Obviously better ping and local servers are always desirable, but given the nature of the game, everything is comfortably doable at <120 ms.

            @Erwark: Some things are more doable than others. The monk/ninja class can be interesting with higher latency especially in boss fights, for example.

    I play on an NA Data centre and i dont really notice the ping, but i might try moving the char to a Japanese realm

  I'm still bitter with the fact that trial acc can play until level 35 for free, forever and I bought the game, only level 15 but can't play unless I buy game time.

  Unless they've changed it to allow any acc, paid or trial to play until lvel 35, I won't be coming back to FF14

    You can level to 35 or 20 Hours played which ever comes first. This has also be the case.

  I play on Tonberry and use the wtfast client which gets my ping to around 100-150ms. The game is definitely playable, even with the current Savage tier raiding I have no issues.

    It will be 30 days from when you redeem the code. You have until the 3rd of May to redeem. If you redeemed it on that date, you have 30 days of game time from the 3rd. If you want to play for longer, you will need to subscribe for more game time.

    If you like MMO's, I highly recommend FFXIV.

  I recommend using MudFish to route packets to JP data center to minimise the latency. I can comfortably play this with <120ms ping from Sydney. To make it even better use FastConnect to reduce the client-side ping to simulate 0ms ping which should make the client side validation for things like clicking menu buttons even faster
