  • I’m getting $51

    • +1

      Change the size to 10.25"

    • Yep, 10.25 showing as $51 to me also

      • Go to 'other sellers' on the far right and check the Amazon US (Add to Cart)

Might be easier to see it on this link 2nd one down ;)

        • Thanks, but that shows "+ $33.43 delivery"
The first listing on that link shows Prime for $51 ?

          • @GG57: Yep that's correct - as OP has in title + delivery (if you spend over $49 with Amazon US you get it shipped free if you're a prime member)

            • +5

              @urbancartel: Thanks, excuse my ignorance.
So, is it not possible to buy this for $22.92 UNLESS:
              1. I am a Prime member; AND
              2. I buy other item(s) from Amazon US to get the order >$49
              ?

              • @GG57: Yep that's correct mate ;)

              • @GG57: Isn't it Prime member OR >$49 for free shipping?

                • @dheywood: Apparently not, needs to be both.
                  That's why I asked.

                • +3

@dheywood: That's for Amazon Australia stuff, this is coming from Amazon US.

  • +2

Because its Sold by Amazon USA,the order total should be over $49 for Prime Members to qualify for free shipping.

    • "Free for Amazon Prime Orders over $49" - In the title already.

      • +1

Yep was only reiterating here just-in-case if anyone is wondering.

  • +2

Since we either pay extra $33.43 or add other stuff to exceed $49.00 would it be a better deal to go with this one for a few dollars more?

  • +3

Will this get me a chicken dinner?

  • This is much better than the one they sell at ALDI?

    • +1

      Yes, it is.

      • How is it better? How much is the Aldi one? TIA!

        • American better

  • +2

This was number one in the "gifts for her" Valentine's Day section… romantic!

    • For her so i can use it to cook steak =P

      • for finishing them off after the anova sous vides them

  • hnnggg I need something to buy with for that sweet free shipping!

    • Cheers.

Now, what do I do with two skillets?

      • Couple of steaks on the grill pan and eggs and veggies on the other.

  • +1

This one is available for $29.99 via amazon Australia

  • Is all cast iron cookware the same? How is this a better quality?
Curious to know as I have cast iron for camping and love it but don't think I need more.

    • +1

The lodge is thicker and has a much better resistant to rust I find, more even temperature. All thier stuff is weighty AF

I guess americans know how to do BBQ.

    • +1

Also I think the different textures (e.g. rough/smooth) can help the seasoning process too? (not sure, I think I read this somewhere)

      • +1

That is correct. A good pan should be pretty much ready to go, a poor quality pan will likely need sanding before it will season properly.

  • +2

Hmm, don't really need it. But I'm going to the pub, so this better be in stock when I get back.

    • Utilising the $10 ALH pub meal offer too?

  • +1

Been using this for ages. Good pan. It feels like it has somewhat uneven heat distribution but that's probably more to do with using a gas hob. I really can't see myself going back to the nonstick stuff.

  • Thanks!

    • I didn't realise it wasn't free shipping … Amazon says they can't cancel this because it's been more than 30 minutes after I placed my order.

I should have been more careful.

  • Wishing they have deals for larger size, this one too small for 4 people.

  • Am on a plant based diet why did I need to buy two more steak pans.

    GG ozbargain

    • Because people need to eat meat, Meat eats the green stuff so you don't have to ;)

    • Did you buy 2 for the free shipping? I'll give you $25 for one of them if you want to sell to a carnivore? I'm on a strict carnivore based diet most days of the week and dont have a good pan.

    • Use for caulifower steaks / grilled egg plant

  • -2

Or you could buy this perfectly good 30cm one with a wooden handle at the everyday price of $19.95 + freight from Aussie Disposal https://www.aussiedisposals.com.au/cast-iron-frypan-w-handle…

    • +1

Lol. Are you serious? Even with delivery, it is a lot cheaper than what you pay with other retailers here.

What did you expect? Free stuff?

And how is it any different to other deals where delivery is extra? But the price is still a bargain!

    • +2

      cheaper elsewhere.

Where? This skillet is $50+ locally. Many of which also charge delivery. Why don't you neg every deal that charges delivery?

      • -3

Price in title should mean total price including delivery if that delivery must be paid.
This delivery is unavoidable even for prime members unless they add additional to cart to get the the minimum $49. Therefore minimum cost is $49 to obtain the pan for $22.92.

        • By that logic, this post from the same day isn't a deal either. Or why not be be consistent and neg deals from every online store that has a minimum free shipping threshold from Amazon ($49), Myer ($49), Uniqlo ($59), to Surf Stich ($75).

          cheaper elsewhere

Where? Even if you toss in a bunch of other items from your wishlist to get free shipping, you're still coming out ahead than buying alone from any local seller. None come close to $22.

          • -2

@SydStrand: Once again. The deal that you post was a deal able to be obtained at $49 of you click and collect.

Mods agreed with me and changed title to include delivery.

It's not a deal on it's own if you have to bundle it.

Then anyone could post a deal $29 + $100 shipping.
Or free item just pay $10 shipping. Etc.

  • Cant seem to see where the prime shipping comes into it?

  • It looks good this deal.

  • Why the combo one shows $99 to me instead of $53.69?

    • look at buying options and choose Amazon US rather than Amazon Au

  • If anyone is looking for other items to add in to get over the $49, you could look at buying the Lodge silicone handles (for the handle when it gets hot) or Lodge grill pan scraper (to clean). Otherwise I really like using a XL piece of chain mail for cleaning (which I think is better than the plastic scraper).

  • The combo cooker with the deep skillet is great value as well. We have had the set for about 8 years and use it most days. The deeper skillet is great for stir-frying and casserole dishes and they can be put together to make a small dutch oven. Good quality and extremely useful. Much better than frequently replacing non-stick cookware as many people do

  • I bought one of these and returned it for 2 reasons - the handle is very short and it's a struggle to hold it one handed due to its weight, also I paid $50 and it was discounted a few days later. Amazon couldn't refund the difference but offered a refund minus a small amount. I ended up buying a Victoria cast iron skillet 12 inch instead, along with a their 10 inch square pan. The 12 inch skillet was 20 odd dollars then and was Amazon prime then.

    • I have one of these. It’s my favourite pan. It is hard for my wife to pick up with one hand I agree

      • I found the longer handle on the Victoria made it feel more balanced. The 12 inch size is also more useful. It weighs probably 10 - 15 % less which is a disadvantage. I would have liked to have bought a Field Company skillet if Amazon sold them.

    • You want weight cast iron for the quality, and will be heavier, if you go for light you might be getting less quality and less heat control

  • Don't forget GST as well …

Ended up paying $54 because I didn't realise it was Amazon US.

Would have been better to add $28 worth of stuff rather than pay the shipping.

Might be a good deal for those that want that little bit larger

Does anyone find that the 10.5 is too small for a family of 5?

    • I find the 10.5 too small for a family of 2. 2 decent sized steaks at the same time don't really fit.

  • Got the 15" on the deal before Xmas about $80 delivered - that's what you need 😂

  • I just measured up my non stick pans at moment and they are more around 11 inch so couldn't drop to 10.25 Inch

  • Matfer Bourgeat 062002 Black Steel Round Frying Pan, 9 1/2-Inch, are also in good price and just enough for free shipping.

  • Do they ever do smaller skillets on special?
