I have one of these. They have a great read/write speed for about 30 seconds then the drive overheats and its slows down badly.
Don't touch the tip after pulling it out of the computer, you'll brand your hand.
exactly what I wanted to know, thanks for the heads up.
anyone with recommendatio of a 128GB USB3/3.1 stick that can sustain the advertised r/w rate?
Don't touch the tip after pulling it out
Noted, cheers
I have a tiny usb drive from Sandisk, 10 seconds in the slot make it sizzling hot … manufacturer common issue?
That's why it's a bad idea to do usb drives entirely encased in metal. Too many metal snobs who think plastic isn't premium enough so this is what you get. I have 2 Samsung bar Usb and they are unusable.
Ultra Fit 3.1 is also $13.39
Thanks Doweyy… updated the post
Have the Ultra fit drives gotten any better?
I have about ten of them (~2 years old) and at least half no longer work properly. They will write for only a few minutes before failing.
It's probably over heating.
just go thru the RMA process, fairly straightforward, they have 4 years warranty on them, I am waiting on mine, supposedly get upgraded to latest model.
Whoa, everything disappeared out of my cart. Not on their site either :'(
put in cart, then get, This item is no longer available.
I've been using one of the ultra fits on my Wii U for over a year and haven't had any issues
Cheers. Managed to get one just in the nick of time!
Melbourne CBD Elizabeth Street had about 5-8 of each remaining about 30 minutes ago. I picked up one of each.
Just picked up 20 from the local JB hi-fi
is your name broden by any chance?
BS
Went to Garden City to grab a 64gb Flair, said online it was available but they couldn't find any instore. Managed to grab a Sandisk Ultra Fit USB 3.1 64GB $13.39. Had the sales guy scan into his PDA scanned at 13.39 at the registers it scanned full price at $40. Website link was then broken, lucky I was able to point out the sales rep and got the discounted price.
Which garden city?
Garden City, Mt Gravatt QLD
Had the exact same issue at my local!
had a 32 gig of these and it lasted about 2 months and just died for no reason.
This seems to be a little faster at writing than the other 64gb sandisk bargain at jb-hifi posted below.
