I never used to get them until I deleted the app and stopped ordering - been about a month since I did so, and now I get all the targeted emails. I feel like they're there to drag you back in. Ofc I can't use the codes anymore because I now live in a location where UberEats isn't offered.

Uber eats costs me $5 for delivery. How do these guys make any money or is the pricing of the meal different from going to the take away place directly?
Yes, items are more expensive on the app than they are in store.
They charge the restaurant 30-35% of the whole invoice. So if you order $100 worth of food Uber Eats take $30-$35, the restaurant will make $65. Also the $5 delivery charge goes to driver.
That's terrible that they take a massive cut from businesses that are struggling but then again business may actually be getting more turn over. Hard to tell … convenience for us is pretty good though. Much better than the old menulog or whatever it was.
All my local places charge $6.95… So yeah I hardly use it :(
