Do people still wire these days?

    • +3

Those that prefer better quality sound do, not that it would make these better or worse either way, I could not give the set away that I purchased.

    • +7

People who don't want to spend a fortune or look ridiculous do.

      • …amen to that :D

does this earphones nails it ?

    • +1

Definitely. I spent way too much time and effort looking for a budget pair that worked with my old Pixel 2 XL (usb-c audio messes everything up). Just easier for very short uses, and especially for taking calls/etc where wireless ones have the mic too far away to give any decent background noise cancellation.

    • People who don't want their earbuds to run out of battery do, yes.

The only time I would switch to wireless earbuds is if I need ANC.

I used to have a pair of wired QC20, but they got stolen. I would rather have one of those than the QC30 wireless ANC.

It's been a long time since the last deal on these, but this price isn't very appealing.

    • …agreed. think i paid under $5 per set from gearbest offer late last year

      • +1

Yep, waiting for another $5 deal to stock up. My last pair broke after a year of heavy use.

  • +1

What about the ones that are a bit better. There used to be deals every couple of days. What happened 😔

    • +1

…yeh. i have xiaomi piston as a notification and dont seem to see many deals these days…i like em for the beach bike riding etc as theyre so cheap very easy to replace and bang for buck theyre pretty damn good…just wish they were a little more durable/lasted longer

  • i love the sound of these but they all seem to die…initially they just get muted so you clean or remove the little mesh thingy….and then they just stop working in one ear.
So many pairs dead like this….not exercising or doing anything odd…but still dying.

    • …yeh the one ear thing. ive seen some youtube vids on how to re-inforce the jack connection….might do this the next set i open

  • these sound good but noise around you gets in too much and ruins it.

    • +1

…mate i can run a 75+db lawn mower and easily drown it out using the pistons…noisy post rock of course helps achieve this :P

      • Not good for your hearing

        • …well…neither were all the gigs & festivals i went to either!

    • Why do people say the sound is good on these? the sound quality is very poor, about what you would expect for the $3 I paid for mine.

      • ..where did you buy yours? ive read of dodgy knock offs…

i would definitely not describe the sounds quality as very poor at all….perfectly fine for my needs and im a little picky (not an audiophile though) when it comes to sound quality i.e i wont listen to 'very poor' as most of my music needs at least 'decent' reproduction or its not worth listening to

        • Gear best via OZB post, no one complained of knock offs. I haven't used them recently but from memory very little treble and muddy sound.

      • +1

you bought knock offs. the real ones sound pretty good for $5 its just that they let in outside noise and you need to crank it up to drown it out.

    • They reduce the noise a lot compared to naked ears.

Whenever I blend something in my nutri ninja, it's unbearable without ear plugs. But with these things on, I can stand near it and it doesn't hurt my ears. Granted, I can't actually hear what I'm listening to while blending, but it is blocking a lot of noise and protecting my ears.

  • This is my daily driver for podcasts and audiobooks. For this price, the only thing I wish for is L shaped connectors.

But I get them when they're $3 USD.

  • Just be aware, in my experience bangood swapped the piston 'fresh' for the piston 'basic'.

I ordered 2 sets, one in white and one in black - both 'fresh', paid more than this and they only just arrived in the mail as 'basic'. I'm not sure if complaining will do much at this point.
