  • damn good price, cant resist.

I recently bought this for $28 and honestly, it does the job to raise and lower my cars until I put the pin stands under them. That one does look tempting though.

    • Ended uo buying it. Frickin huge. Have your + vote OP :)

    • Hey Tuftsdude. I took you advice and went with the $28 repco jack. Unfortunately the jack doesn’t raise the car high enough from the front centre to get my two car pin stands under the sides of the car? Are using a special trick or do you only use one pin stand?

      • +1

Depends on your car mate. On my VW Polo I raise the car from the side and put the stand, then repeat from the other side.
For my BMW I only have four jack points, I'd raise from the rear jack point after putting the car on wooden blocks then put the stand on the front, repeat for the other side. Do you have to raise from the front?

Of course I use the Jack from this deal now for the BMW, very convenient, but fricking huge, kind of making it an inconvenience.. it's a paradox. At least I don't need wooden blocks with this one.

        • Thanks for that. I wasn’t sure if it was safe to jack one side then pace the car on one stand and then jack the other side and uses the second stand. I am not too sure about how you do the wooden block method but it seems too unconventional and my wife wouldn’t allow anything that seems “unsafe”. Thanks again!

  • I've had this for a year or so and only used a few times, but happy so far.

nice and wide = very stable.
at 44kg, it can be awkward to lift & shift.
very handy because of the low profile and lift range.

    • You guys reckon it’s over kill for a Commodore?

      • +3

no jack is overkill as long as it fits underneath your car.

      • Low profile is needed for Commodore but sometimes this is still not low profile enough and you may need to jack from the side put on blocks and get to the front.

I have to do this with the VF, rear is on ramps but still looks like it'd hit the bumper before you reach the k frame from the front.

  • $354 for me :(

Brilliant!!! That worked :) I didn’t even see it.
The tears were blurring my vision :) haha

  • Sweet deal, brought one for me and one for my brother.

    • I haven’t bought yet, but will today, for sure!!

  • Great price.
Was always planning to get an alloy one, but this is a good price.
    Decisions, decisions, decisions.

  • Bargain! I bought this back in November for 200 dollars. Quite heavy and but good quality

  • Do i need 2?

  • Hmmm this Toolpro one or this eBay one? 10kg lighter… https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3TON-Super-Low-Profile-Hydraulic…

    • Edit

    • ToolPro for sure, considering the Ebay one isn't much cheaper. And 10kg lighter means a lot less metal or components!!! No thanks, not for a 3000kg jack!

If I'm relying on something to lift my car I'd rather buy from an Australian retailer. Ebay specials on imports coming from O/S wouldn't exactly fill me with confidence that they are of decent long term quality.

Plus ToolPro is actually a decent brand.

    • Don't buy that eBay one. I bought one a couple years ago and it was leaking oil out of the box. I sent it back and got a refund.

    • I have this one seems great, goes a little lower(+20mm) but not as high(-45mm) as toolpro. It's lighter which is good as it's already flucken heavy.

SCA warranty would be good but I'd buy it again as it seems to be lower profile/lighter and thats what i needed.

Happy to post pics if anyone needs.

    • I ended up getting something slightly different: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JIMY-TOOLS-SUPER-LOW-PROFILE-LON…

Research indicated that neither the one above or the Toolpro would reach the central jack points on my car, which is also lowered.

People do seem to have ducts with the one above however, due to the extra long and low reach. Fingers crossed it works!

      • My problem exactly.

STI Liberty and MY previous SS Ute just at factory height. It's the reach that you want.

Tempted to get this just because it was a great price but I already have a good branded one in the same dimensions.

I need something like what you've linked next or even an ex-workshop jack for even longer reach. Did you look into prices/brands much before taking the plunge?

        • +1

I looked pretty extensively for a long reach model. The best one was the Arcan XL2T but unfortunately no one seems to sell it in Australia.

I came across this one but couldn’t find any reviews. It does seem to sell pretty well though, looking at the eBay sale history and their Facebook page. And the measurements are comparable to the Arcan - so I am hopeful.

I could use ramps but I prefer not to have to mess about with those - prefer something I can put in the boot and take to the track and have just work.

          • @atlas: Very much so, I hate ramps. I made my own for the ute for that exact reason and they are just a pain especially on your own. Thanks for the info, I'll definitely look into it once I organise my new workshop and garage extension area.

            • @db87: If you don't need to transport it then I saw some very handy things called Quickjacks. Not cheap but that's what I would get.

              • @atlas: I did consider these built into the ground of my garagebut not a fan overall. Ended up going a 4 post hoist for full advantage of the height and access. 😉

Those quick jacks boast portability too but I wouldn't want to be moving them around too often. Haha 😂

Just bought one for my SS, been using the standard 3000kg jack for years, def not overkill. I'd pay the extra $$$ by day of the week for the little extra peace of mind that the Jack would hold up if the jack stands fail and not really desperate to know whether the spare tyre would have stopped my skull being flattened like a watermelon dropped from a 10 storey building.

I'm hoping this low profile one will put an end to me having to drive onto a couple of planks of wood for the jack to fit under my car.

    • My situation exactly. Just ordered as well :).

If you have a Costco membership or can get your hands on the Arcan Jacks they are a lot better then any of the cheapish ones from Supercheap etc. I bought one off eBay a couple years ago as I didn't have a Costco membership and have been very happy with it. They are Aluminium body so they are a lot lighter then others made from steel.

I have seen them as cheap as $140 in this deal also check the comments from others!

Link to same model on US site:

    Range: 100mm min | 470mm max

    • Agree with what u said unfortunately 470mm is too low for SUVs.

    • That's an amazing price and light but starts higher (25mm) and finishes lower (45mm) than the eBay ones for $175. Probably would've suited me.

  • should be enough to get the mrs out of bed
