  • Hi no intention to teivialise the bargain but a genuine question- is this more of a gimmick or truly a bargain? Y i ask is that i have been advised to change all 4 tyres on my car so am on the lookout. Do i just go and use this bargain or shopping around could get me a better deal?

    • If you're not getting 3 for the price of 4 you're doing something wrong. They have these "bargains discounts" ALL the time.

      • +1

Sure not always buy 3 get 1 free. May be get $100 back. Not All the time or 365 days

        • Frequent enough to be classified as all the time.

    • Mostly a gimmick, the size given 175/65R14 is a very common cheap size tyre, if you can't get most for $80 or less you are not trying. So $345 is not that great.

The discounts are on RRP, who pays RRP on tyres?

    • The question to ask is are the tyres on special good enough to meet your needs? If you drive around like a nan then they're ok, but if you think you might one day need to brake from 100 to avoid hitting a roo in the wet, then you might need to see if they are capable of that. I find most of the 3for4 deals are for tyres which are designed to be cheap as opposed to designed for performance (braking, wet weather, etc).

      • Serenity Plus is not a high performance tyres, but I have used it on different cars with very satisfactory result. Wet grip is very good, braking is very good. Obviously you can't compare it with RE003 on performance.
In saying that, Serenity Plus will last longer than RE003 on same driving condition.

    • Just look at the final price you will pay (excl. alignment as this can be done seperately / not all tyre places do it or do a good job) and compare on the same tyre, same size.

I've found Costco can sometimes quote cheaper than Bridgestone direct's 4 for 3 offer. All it takes is a few calls to find the best deal - and if you're really feeling up for it you could return to Bridgestone/KTAS/etc with the cheapest quote and ask them to beat it.

  • Haven't seen any amex casback offers for tyres for sometime.

  • I just went to COSTCO to book a set of tyre changing. Cost me $502 for my Camry 2011 including $70 cash back.
I can't find any price on the website of Bridgestone, So I don't know my price is bargain or not

    • +1

you should call bridgestone for quote

      • Yup calling helps. The serenity plus is good enough for a Camry. I got replaced my car's tyres (Camry 2011) for about $420 two years ago. Get quotes from multiple Bridgestone dealers and go to the one that offers your the best price.

    • Does that cost include fitting and wheel alignment?

      • Yes, Costco promises lifetime, fitting and balancing.

        • But not wheel alignment.

Not only it is not included but only they do not able to do it.

you will need to go to another shop to get it done

@SnoozeAndLose: I think balancing means wheel alignment. Should be done in once. Otherwise, this is too much hassle.

            • @mozhiwanjia: balancing use metal putting on the outer rim of your wheel which alignment need to use a computer to check if the wheel align with you steering wheel, if not they need to adjust.

              Two a totally different things

            • @mozhiwanjia: Costco does not do wheel alignment but only wheel balancing.
