  • How is this different from ADBLOCK?

    • looks like this one works on safari instead of being it's own browser

      • +1

ADBLOCK doesn't have it's own browser does it?
I use it with Safari and GC, plus keeping the VPN on also takes some ads out of other apps.

  • Well doesn’t work very well I have just installed it restarted Safari and still getting ads on oz bargain

    • Ads on ozbargain is managed by PubLift and will be coming from the same domain as ozbargain so any ad blocker will probably not block. :)

so any ad blocker will probably not block

No ads here using uBlock Origin.

      • Blocker+ blocks ads in Safari from OzBargain

Worked for me. Did you do step 1 of the FAQ?

      Blocking doesn't seem to work?

      Try following these steps:
      1. Make sure Adblock Pro is enabled in Settings > Safari > Content Blockers
      2. Launch Adblock Pro and enable blocker options you need.

Edit: it struggles with news.com.au … probably because the whole site is an ad

      • Thanks!

    • I run AdBlock and get no ads on ozbargain.

      iOS 12.1.1

    • How is ozbargain making any money if you block ads?

      • [Adds an exception not to block ads on OzB]

      • They got more than plenty from us coming here and post link clicks.

This Safari extension is different and not related at all from from the popular AdBlock Plus Chrome extension.
Maker of this app is this: Cryto Tracker Inc, https://cryptopro.app/

  • there's a ton of free adblockers with no IAP. Is this better than those?

    • $2.99 in the Apple store

      • It was free when I got mine was posted on here a while back I’m pretty sure

any recommended ad block for mac?

    • +1

You cant go wrong with uBlock Origin. Just make sure you're downloading the correct one.

Re it not blocking ads. I haven't tried it but in iOS the changes don't take effect until the app is closed and restarted. If you had Safari open when you installed the adblocker you need to close and reopen to test.
Personally I use and prefer AdGuard Pro which works on all apps (dummy VPN redirects ads to nowhere). Apple will be banning these VPN style of blockers as theya are too effective so get it while you can!

  • AdGuard is better.

  • What’s the difference between adguard and adguard pro other than $2.99?
