      • Perhaps for deals you advertise directly on OzBargain, you could make an exception? I dunno, but it seems silly that we KNOW we'll have to submit a claim, but have to wait. In my case, it could have kept amaysim from wasting postage on sending two sims out when I only ordered one (I was one of the lucky ones that got two invoice numbers, two charges, even two sims, but just the one mobile number). I'm stubborn and didn't see the point in dealing with one issue multiple times, so I waited until now to tell amaysim about their stuff-up.

        I just received the sim(s) (had to contact support to see which one was the right one) and only have 20 days left (yes, I've put it in the phone and made a test call). Not going to bother getting the extra 10, not worth the hassle.

        On the bright side, my wife's tracked very quickly, though hers also had 20 days of service left when received.

        • Quick update, took nearly six hours but I did get a text saying the plan date was restarted, and account now shows 28 days left.

          • @josetann: How did you get it restarted? I had to buy a sim from Coles cause mine never arrived and activate it. I was then credited $10 cause they were unable to credit the days so I’m stuck with 20. Just goes to show what kind of service they have.. definitely won’t be sticking around

              @johnnytran: About six hours after putting the sims in and making test calls, I got a text saying it was being restarted.

      Put the sim into an old phone and try calling it and/or calling from it. If it works, it's fully activated and you're fine. but if it doesn't work go here to activate it.

    Ugh, did anyone else's credit card get double charged the $10?

    Not sure if I should initiate a chargeback from the bank side, or ask Amaysim to refund one? And will this affect the cashback?

    • Happened to me, Different invoice numbers but same mobile number.

    • Same here when I did the Shopback cashback - same number, different invoices. Also got two emails saying the SIM is on the way, one had the phone number the other had 00 instead.

      Jumped on amaysim Live Chat and they fixed up a refund in a few minutes - takes 3-5 business days to get it though.

      Also, same error at checkout and fail to track on Shopback - just like the two times I used CR.

  • I received mine pre-activated today in the mail. Did the ID check thing way back last week. Is this considered activated? Because there's option on the website for me to activate?

    • yes i was the same, it is activated and good to go. test it with some calls.

      • Yeah make sure you put it in to use it once.

    • Make a call from it, when they see you've used it once they restart your 28 day period from that point, happened with mine.

        • I take that back with apologies. I have one SIM which was activated on the 19th, when I applied for it. I've used it for over 2 days now and it detected this morning that I had started using it, reset the expiry date to 28 days from now AND reset the data even though I had used ~2GB already. Seems like this can be used to our advantage if we don't touch the SIM until around 2 days before expiry and then use it heavily. I will test this with another unused SIM that I have.

      Just in case, change your billing method - say Bpay, so can't be charged.
      Have been buying Amaysim SIMs with Cashback for 2 years mainly for data - data just cuts out & never charged any extra.

      I havent received both. Wish @tightarse can clarify things, as next Thursday is the deadline.

      That being said, mine is both pre-activated according to amaysim and already eating into my 28 days, which means I done the ID check, before the sim arrives (still hasn't though). Will this qualify for cashback?

        Mine also is eating into my allowance bar the fact I have not received the SIM!

        • Open up live chat with guys at amaysim, and ask them if the SIM is preactivated. If it is, your cashback is pretty much guaranteed. At least thats what the support team told me.

          • @OzCashback: Mine came pre-activated, with 3 or 4 days already gone, put it into a phone and made a call with it, amaysim sent me an SMS saying:

            "Hi xxxx, we noticed you've only just started using your amaysim SIM, so we've restarted your plan date so you get the most out of your plan."

            Confirmed when I checked my account.

    Still haven't received either of my SIMs- Ordered the $35 cashback on the 17th and the $40 cb on the 18th.

    For the people who haven't received the SIM card yet, open up live chat with amaysim on their website and ask if its active. They'll tell you if its pre-activated or not, and can confirm if your cashback is valid.

    • I haven't received the second card yet, but can see that it has been activated (status in "My account"), so suppose everything is on the track :)

      SIMs in $35 CR deal arrived faster - in 3 business days.

      Mine were not activated (as expected), as bought with PayPal & did not provide ID to Amaysim - to get full 28 days. Will Activate by 31/1.

  • I bought 1 for dad but his foreign passport details are failing validation. Never had any issues with Optus or Telstra.

    Only 1 attempt is left so wondering what is the best way to go about it?

  • Sim still not received. I somehow have an email about a request to activate the sim and a system error, despite me never raising one. Amaysim is pathetic.

  • SIM never received. Speaking to their customer service via email I was told to buy a SIM and activate it and they will credit me $10 for days lost + $2 for the SIM. Is this their tactic to try and get out of cashback? I completely forgot about the whole it needs to be the SIM they send to be eligible for cashback.

    Thinking about it more, the SIM they “sent” to me was activated cause I’ve lost 10 days on my service so I should be eligible for cashback. So the SIM ive bought now is just a replacement SIM, not the originally SIM my service was activated on. So I think I should be good ….

    • How did you activate it without the sim? I only received the sim today… so not able to get the cashback at all. Just $10 down…

      • After I bought it I logged onto their website and the First option I had was to confirm my ID which activated it. If you’ve done this they’re meant to send a pre activated SIM to you. I never received mine so bought one from Coles and activated it.

        The amaysim reps I’ve dealt with seemed kinda clueless regarding cashrewards, end result they said it’s up to cashrewards to issue the cashback. So we shall see..

    I initiated the number transfer to amaysim yesterday and it still hasn’t finished. So I contacted support and they said I’d still get the cash back since I tried to activate it before the end date, if anyone was in a similar situation.

    Received my sim in the post yesterday so guess it's too late for me to activate for cashback.

    • Mine came already activated, only had about 18 days left? But it will restart to 28 once you start using it, like sending a TXT. So you might still be fine.

    • Check your Amaysim account to see if activated (shows number of days left if active).

      Mine required activation - as waited to do ID check at activation (paid with PayPal).

      Contact Amaysim. Discuss the delayed delivery - it's likely their fault. Ask if you qualify for cashback. If not, consider cancelling for refund.

    • I had to get a replacement sim cause the first one never came… So it's too late for me too :( sent request to CR, so hopefully it'll be okay…

      • CR might not be able to do much. Contact Amaysim as they make the decision about approval of Cashback.

    Activated SIM on 30/1 (ID check, confirmed email address, clicked activate, checked 28 days to use, turned auto-recharge off, set payment to Bpay just in case).

    Only inserted SIM today & received SMS

    Amaysim is improving over sending preactivated SIMs with no ability to reset to 28 days. (Usually only gave credit.)

    I wonder how long use can be delayed for the reset to still work. My guess is less than 28 days.

  • Glad I rechecked this thread - I forgot to activate Sim but it was preactivated (thanks Amaysim) Just logged into Amaysim account and it's due to recharge tomorrow! Phew!

    What the easy way to cancel serivce or can you change your plan to the AS YOU GO - $0 and not use it ?

      Turn off Auto-recharge, change payment type to B-Pay/Voucher or just port out if you want to cancel.

      I have previous amaysim SIMs a few months old that are still activated but the auto-recharge is turned off.
