    Holy smokes no Perth.

    • +1

      As usual forgotten

      • No Hongkie in Perth

    • Perth? Where's that?

      • +1

        Why you little…!!

  • +1

No First Class round the world or to Europe tickets for same price?

  • +3

You need to go hunting for ANY DATES with these prices….

Had a quick look in Jan / Feb and the prices were 3 times this.

    • +1

"Brisbane - Hong Kong, from $662"

Check for a date. Showing $1000+. Wow what a deal.

      • +1

        Google Flights

End of Feb, most of March, etc. all $662

        • Thanks neil for doing OP's job correctly.

    • -1

Yes I flicked on to Melbourne - Hong Kong in April and found the same. The voting guidelines aren't clear on what to do in this situation - there is "no overly broad dates specified" option. Further these prices are similar to what you'd get from Qantas/Virgin. So it's a downvote from me.

    • Sydney to Hong Kong

      Cheap departure dates: Feb 20, 21, 25, 26, 27. March 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 + lots more.

    • From the 4th of Feb starts Chinese new year holiday and it lasts for 2 weeks. So expect that to be peak season fare. End of Feb should be ok.

  • buying return is cheaper than one way. Any problem with buying return with no intention of flying back?

    • I don't see why not. Skiplagged has taken it a step further.

    • +3

No problem at all, just can't do it the other way around. Once you miss a flight the rest are cancelled, so if you missed the first one the second flight would get cancelled.

  • Can you offer the same price for business class to South East asia ?

  • CX cheap flights are very selective and not available most dates, not uncommon with them.

  • +2

Tickets around Easter time were $1k+

    showing 1000+

    • Sydney to Hong Kong

      Cheap departure dates: Feb 20, 21, 25, 26, 27. March 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 + lots more.

  • Price is misleading, they are over $566 with travel date on 30/3/2018.
    Where's the deal???

    • Sydney to Hong Kong

      Cheap departure dates: Feb 20, 21, 25, 26, 27. March 4-7, 11-14, 18-21 + lots more.

  • +3

OP, can you please provide example dates for those prices to actually show that the deal is obtainable?

    • -5

Agreed - if an associated person is able to post deals with such vague validity parameters and no sample fares for the headline price, then it becomes dangerously close to sockpuppeting. I feel like downvoting is the only way to make sure our voice is heard.

      • Have added dates which there are plenty to the OP. Sockpuppeting would be if the rep posted without declaring that they are associated with Cathay Pacific which isn't happening so I'm not sure what you're on about.

        • +1

Thanks neil, I forget what the terms mean. Perhaps I meant astroturfing…

          • @carwashhair: That's when companies comment on a post without declaring association. Don't see that happening here either. :)

  • Qantas has the same deal….

Looked for example some flights next week…. 280 out…. but for most of Jan / Feb the prices are very high.

Might be best to book seperate sectors on QF and CX for any deals

    • Check flight duration ie: any stops. Qantas tend to be longer flights due to stop

  • +1

Title need to change from, there are few fairs here and their for $566. Which is a good deal.

  • +4

Virgin are 2-4-2 on the A330 much more comfortable than the 10 across 777 sardine can.

VA are on sale now also

    • +2

+1 and dont forget that Virgin:
      1. Is a full service airline (food + movies etc)
      2. Gives you more baggage allowance (23kg x 2)
      3. Has non-sale fares that are probably cheaper than CX's "sales fares"

  • +2

    Slowly becoming ozadvertising .. :(

  • hmmm Has anyone found any dates for those prices?
Sounds like a scam. the dates I want are double…$985.
How do I renege my vote?

    • -1

      Use Google Flights.

For example, Sydney to Hong Kong, Feb 20-27

    • Melbourne - Hong Kong. 14/10 -23/10 $567.75 return per adult. Travel times aren't the best IMO.

    • +2

Found CX fares from $538 on 30/5, back 4/6. But QF were $529 on those dates…

  • No deal - on the dates I checked on Skyscanner (27/3 out, 2/4 back), I could see VA fares from $481 direct and QF fares from Melbourne for $518 direct both ways.

    Same dates on CX: $676…

not really a deal. says departures: 17 Jan 2019 - 14 Nov 2019, but flights in July are all $1000+.

  • Departures: 17 Jan 2019 - 14 Nov 2019

OP, find me a return flight at those prices departing from 17 Jan 2019 and return anytime. If you can't, then the promotion isn't really applicable to 17 Jan 2019 onwards.

  • -1

FYI I searched Adl-HK in November and found plenty of dates at the advertised price.

  • +1

Qantas and Virgin seem to have frequent deals in the 450-500 range for off peak dates, compare before you book.
