How's the picture on 75P7 OP?

Can i ask how come you picked the Hisense over the LG and Samsung?

    • Good question

    • +5

Viewed them all at JB, the build quality looked much better on the Hisense and it looked much brighter. Reviews also seem to point that the Hisense is a great tv, I thought it was worth the extra money, but if your on a budget the others should do just fine.

    • Have the N series and quality is top notch. Highly recommend at these prices.

I haven't played around with the P series but being this year's model, they couldn't have messed it up.

  • These are new lows from 1st Tier brands.

    75" 4k Sammy @ 1836

  • 65P7 for $1423 is pretty decent as well, although from memory it got down to ~$1300 late last year.

Edit: actually appliancecentral have it for $1368 delivered after discount.

    • Correct, around late Nov/early Dec, I'm sure it was down to around $1280 at both Harvey Norman and JB Hi-fi. Hasn't been close to that since.

      • Yeah, would be great if HN/Domayne could do that again so you can get the Amex cashback on top!

      • Actually some people managed to get it for $1096 ($1196 + $100 giftcard) on this deal. as per the last few comments.

        • Yeah i paid $1196 and got the gift card. Price has not come close since

          • @hessels92: Lucky you!…I kept waiting for even better deal but only got disappointment.

  • Price Jacking? Well I'll never.

    • Never say never.

assuming these TVs are at similar level, it is very interesting to see Hisense has overtaken other majors in terms of higher quality and also prices given it was pretty much an budget brand a few years ago. I'm starting to see a pattern between Hisense, Xiaomi and Huawei…

    • yeah, i’m suprised to see how far Hisense has come. it was a budget brand when i got my 65” a couple of years back.

  • Is there a difference in bracket hole placement on the back of 65” compared to 55”?

I’m keen to upgrade but the Ikea wall bracket I’m using with my Ikea TV cabinet says a max of 55”. Just wondering whether I’d be able to get away with adding a 65” if holes are same.

    • I thought they all used the same bracket, and the difference in sizing recommendations was based on estimated weight?

    • From my experience the vesa mount holes are all relatively the same and only like 3 dimensions exist.

Ive gone from 43-55 on the same wall mount kit before, If you are using a Hanging Wall Mount kit you could just buy different stays to adapt, I would most importantly check to make sure the weight limit on the cabinet is able to handle it, However most are more than needed though so i expect this to be fine.

      • Thanks gents. I’ll look more into the vesa dimensions and weight limits. I think the bracket has a weight limit of 30kg so I may be able to manage it if the holes fit.

    which one is better?
    TH75FX780A (+$700) vs 75P7 vs 75P8 (+$600)

    • +1

      whered u find 75p8 for +600?

      • to be more precise… it was only +$552.00
Got it for: $2544 delivered… would have been cheaper if eBay didn't impose a $1500 gift card usage per transaction.

VideoPro also removed their price jacking on the 75P8 model.
        https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Hisense-75-75P8-Series-8-UHD-Sma…

Was tossing up between P7 or P8, decided to go P8 cuz you rarely buy a new TV (once every 5-10years)… so may as well spend the slight extra!
Price came up to approx 15% cheaper than Boxing Day Sales, which was $2999.

        • that's an awesome price. im tossing up between this and the Q6.
could u see if videopro is selling that on ebay for me pls? for some reason when i go through their ebay listings no 75 / 65 inch tv's come up.

          • @arman1201: Q6 is $3432 ex delivery

            • @lplau: thanks.
and im guessing the giftcards were from a previous deal ?

    • The Panasonic TH75FX780A is the one I bought in November (paid $3k) after more than 6 months of research. I found the picture to be far better, perhaps due to Panasonic's excellent software in their premium UHD televisions.

      • Wonder would it be better than the P8 since it uses QLED… From what I have read the Pana doesnt use QLED…

Will properly tune the P8 with a Spyder.

Annoying that Panasonic doesnt get widely reviewed, likely because they decided to exit the US market.

Crazy price for the 75P7. I paid over $2500 5 months ago and thought that was good.

How do people spend so much on TVs? The most expensive tv i have ever bought in my life was a Samsung 32" lcd for $1200 back in 2007.

Since then 2 50" sony's for under $800 each and this morning a 50" UHD TCL for $556 after the discount code @ Videopro.

    • +7

      Some people enjoy picture quality.

      • +1

Exactly this. There is a reason certain tvs like oleds cost more that lcd tvs. The picture quality.

If i am going to stare at this thing i want it to have a great picture quality.

Thats why i ended up with a 55" oled rather than a 65" or 70" lcd.

    • +1

What do you mean? They use money and buy it.

Also, size. 32" is small in a large room with a viewing distance of 4 meters.

    • Most expensive TV I got was a 52" plasma for $10k… 2nd gen large flat screen back in the day.

      Still have it around working….

      • Have you calculated how much power ($) you’ve used over the years ?

        • haha not really. Stopped using it awhile ago, Just sitting in the spare lounge which nobody uses except once in a blue moon.
Actually it was a 42" Plasma, Hitachi.

The pic quality on it is pretty good being just a 720p panel. Back in the day when hitachi was actually producing their own TVs. Sadly they have become another one of those companies that just rebrands crap chinese TVs.

        • People always bring this up with plasmas… The savings from going from plasma to LCD/LED for the average person would be in the range of $20-40 per year, bugger all really and hardly a reason for going out and buying a new TV.

I think it's just one of those things people like to "justify" in their heads, "I'm not buying this TV because I just want a new/bigger TV, I'm buying it because I'm smart and it's actually going to save me money!"

    • I won’t deny it, I gave you the downvote.

If you you are truly unaware of the experience and possible 10 years service that these Price point televisions can give then I pity you.

Not for the TVs in question, but in that do you miss the point in all endeavours we humans undertake to enjoy our lives.

Be it a free walk on the beach or a Swiss skiing expedition, to not see the value in both endeavours for the involved is to be blind.

      • I never had to borrow to buy any electronic goods though in my whole life… may be thats why.

        • +1

I never had either. I'm sure many here didn't either.

My last tv 46" sony bravia which cost $2500. That was 10 yrs ago. Paid in cash.

The one I bought recently cost $1700. 55" panasonic oled. Also paid with my own money. No credit card here for me.

          I don't have the cash. I don't buy it. That's just how I roll.

  • I could be an absolute idiot, but is there no pick up/collect option?
Or am I just too dumb to see how to take off shipping?

    • +1

You should be able to opt for collection at the checkout screen, funnily enough when I put C&C last time I ordered a TV with them they shipped it anyway! See here.

      • It's not giving me that option. Could it be because I am trying to purchase as a guest? Don't have an account and was avoiding making one if I could. For $190 shipping I definitely will though.

        • Hmm I'm not 100% sure, I think using an account would probably help because then your delivery address would be saved before the checkout and id imagine that's what's causing the issue.

          • @doweyy: Worked once I logged in (turns out I had an account, just forgot I had it)
Gave me the option to pick up. Cheers. Upgraded the living room and bedroom tvs.

            • @pwnd: 75” in the bedroom? Is it ceiling mounted ?
I’m guessing you’ve got a super king bed too or maybe double queens.

              • @MITM: 75 for living room. Got a 43 inch LG from their other range for the bedroom.

Costco email this morning has the Samsung 75 listed. Anyone going past to check the price?

    • +1

Costco Ringwood yesterday, Samsung UA75NU7100 was $700 off, final price $2149.99.

  • Has anyone had any experience with the Hisense 49" P4 HD tv? It fits my budget at the moment and is about the right size for my room.

My previous housemate had a hisense and it was pretty good, but we could never get bright pastels to look quite right (this didn't come up too often, as you'd expect.)

  • Thanks OP, grabbed the Samsung yesterday - says delivery 3-5 Feb… I've got the 55" now and love it. Great price, even with delivery

    • +1

Update - delivered today, well ahead of schedule. Another happy customer of VideoPro 👍

  • Do they call before delivery for large items? What happens if nobody is home?

    • My delivery no. Found out by email when it was being delivered. They don't actually give you a time. If you are not home. Delivery guy drops it at their nearest distribution centre for re-delivery.

  • Hey guys,

I am planning to buy TCL 75c4us soon..as that's the one currently cheapest..was just wondering if anyone can update me on how it is performing if anyone has bought it. And can also answer few specific questions like
    1) does starting TV really takes time?
2)is the quick start feature working for you?
    3)how is Android performance?
    4) and was there any issue on software updates?
    5) did you order the voice remote or using the one came with the TV?
    6) what's the refresh rate of the TV? 100hz or 200z
Any other issue the TV facing or tips on how to make best use of it if I buy this.

I am finding difficult to decide which 75" TV to buy currently I have 3 options
    1) tcl 75c4us @ $1896 (brand new)
    2) Samsung nu7100 @ $1887(brand new) or $1600(2nd hand used for 5months)
    3) Sony kd75x9000e @ $1900 (2nd hand used)

Plz do let me know your opinion. Would highly appreciate it..and it will help me decide.

    • Spend a bit more and go for the hisense, superb tv!

  • Great, I got this TV, now the problem is the apartment is farking small, I need a house.
