The age of the cow.
It could be from a dairy cow who is no longer producing enough milk.

May contain traces of meat
Raised in the western suburbs…
How much do IGA normally sell it for?
If memory serves me right, its usually around $24-$25/kg. Their economy meat specials normally cycle between the porterhouse, rump and rib fillet occasionally. There's definitely a difference in quality, but i don't mind it at that price.
Is it MSA certified ?
I got some 2 weeks ago for $12 kg for four pack vaccum sealed from butchers
Great for the sous vide machine https://www.chefsteps.com/activities/sous-vide-steak
http://www.biggun.com.au/pdf/Big%20Gun%20AD%20A_L%20WEEK%20S… NEW YORK CUT SIRLOIN STEAK $11.99 at big gun which is the same as porterhouse just a different name
900+ km away from my place =/
Sounds like just up the road
My local IGA used to have pretty decent meat, but now they have (literally) mutton dressed up as lamb, and they always hide dodgy bits under the good looking bits. I know it's not very "OzBargainshiplike", but I'd rather pay more and get decent meat from the butcher.
Less at butchers. I've never paid more then $12 a kg for porterhouse
Selling Mutton as Lamb is actually illegal. All Lamb will be stamped as such from the abattoir
Lipstick on a Pig now thats a question for another day
Its not in my catalogue? The IGA (VIC) people also had no idea
What makes this cut "Economy"?
