I didn't want to share this deal until we tested it. There definitely was enough food for everyone (we had leftovers) and the meat was very tender. The bread rolls, potatoes, and coleslaw were tasty too - bread rolls were large, fresh crusty rolls. Pick-up was easy and it was all packed into foil BBQ trays ready to go. We just supplied plates, cutlery, serviettes, and tongs. Make sure you bring glad wrap or foil for leftovers - we didn't and should have.

You can also add on extra dishes (we got a couple of platters too listed on their website).

Don't forget to stack with Groupon's cashback and/or other discount codes.

The coupons are:

  • $249 catering for 30 people, including 8kg of slow roasted beef and pork, jacket potatoes, coleslaw, rolls, and gravy (gravy is already poured over the sliced meat ready to go into rolls).
  • $365 catering for 50 people, including 12kg of slow roasted beef and pork, jacket potatoes, coleslaw, rolls, and gravy (gravy is already poured over the sliced meat ready to go into rolls).
  • $10-20 for delivery to certain areas - check the Groupon site for more details.

Obviously check the Groupon for more details before purchasing for conditions. E.g. Must be used within 90 days of purchase.

I lost interest when I read the word catering, was well excited before that :D

    • Without the catering, that would've been a true bargain at this price 😁

Looks a good price especially with rolls and coleslaw etc included.
Downside being the 30 serve minimum.

    FYI:
I've used a similar spit roast catering company in Melbourne for christmas lunch the last 2 years.
It's been great- not much more expensive than hiring a spit and cooking yourself.

They charge ~$11/head for 20 people beef, pork, potatoes and gravy. (or ~$14 head for lamb as well)
The serving sizes are big and the meat is delicious. (the gravy keeps the meat from drying out when you reheat it to serve)

The 20 people is a minimum order quantity and we have only had ~7 people for xmas lunch.
What we do is cater 2 family xmas meals (~14 serves) (ie xmas day lunch with one side of the family and boxing day with the inlaws).

We then make veggie and spit roast pies out of the remaining ~6 serves and freeze them for dinners once a week for a few months.
Works great- cost effective, easy and delicious.

Just need to remember set aside (and not reheat) the meat that is going into the pies.
(The catering company cooks the meat, then cools it.
If you reheated all the meat and put any of those leftovers into pies…. when you cooked the pie that would be reheating meat that has already been cooked twice = bacteria party)

      Great point about reheating twice!

  • Cheers OP - will give it a try.
