  • I got "There are no delivery options available to this area"?

Check that you can live with the remote. There's no numeric pad so you can't quickly type the channel you want.

    • +1

Not really that much of an issue just save your favourite channels into the live tv section

    • +2

I can't remember the last time I even used the numeric pad on a TV remote!

    • +3

Remote is fantastic, configure to control everything (TV, AppleTV, Foxtel and Reciever). FYI can order a replacement One Connect Cable and Remote within the first 3 months of ownership, even to keep as a spare.

      • Wow did not know this, thanks.

      • Wow how do you do this? Please share.

        • You can go on their online chat portal (https://livechat.support.samsung.com/Customer_Service/AU) and you'll need to provide them with a serial number and date of purchase. I received mine within 3 days

          • @n1ck: When you ask for the box and cable, did you tell them that yours was malfunctioning or did they not even ask?

            • @tyuuuuu: They did ask and I just said I wanted spares.

      • Yep, found that out after my pet decided to chew thru my one connect cable within the first week of having this TV. Samsung support were excellent, new cable arrived in a couple of days, no questions asked as to what happened. They told me one of each within 12 months though.

      • Yep, I am waiting for my extra cable and remote lol
They should be arriving next week.

    • I have Q6 with same remote and its not a issue, just press the voice search button and say the channel number.

Voice search is pretty handy for example while you watching Free to Air TV and want to search something on YouTube or Netflix, just press voice search button and say 'play bla bla bla on YouTube' and voila app opens with search results. Have to say Tizen OS is blazing fast.

Would like to know if Q6 qualifies for the free spare remote too. Would like to keep a backup of this little bad boy.

      • Yeah I can live with it, just a bit trickier for my 3 year old who's used to numeric buttons.

        • Just save their favorite channels at the bottom of the screen…or it will automatically save them there if they're frequently used anyway.

For just a few $100 more (under $3K) you can get the same sized TV but using the newer OLED tech instead of this LCD TV.

I know the word QLED looks similar to OLED - but the picture quality is different..

    • This is not $100 more and QLED or LED have brighter display.

I don't think anyone is getting confused between QLED and OLED…I chose the QLED as I have a bright room and wanted Freesync capability. Very happy with the purchase.

      • Perhaps not here on Ozbargain..
But you dont think Samsung's marketing team chose the term QLED very deliberately because it looks almost identical to the name of the new technology made by their biggest rival (fellow Korean company LG) and to cause confusion in the marketplace ?

Re brightness… yes LCD's are brighter. But that in no way means OLED TVs are "dim".
Our OLED is sooo much brighter than the 3 year old Samsung LED LCD it replaced.

I watch most TV at night, but family watches TV a lot during the day, and have found no problems watching TV in the middle of the afternoon, with curtains open on the west wall which is almost floor to ceiling glass. The right edge of the TV is only around 1 meter from that wall.
Maybe its a problem if you have windows facing towards the TV (behind the viewer)..

Re burn-in… plenty of people keep asking about burn-in in the OLED forums, and owners (the regular ones who just watch TV, as well as gamers who spend hours per day with static HUDs etc on screen) say they have had no problem.
OLED has been around for 8 or so years now - I think the current generation are fairly immune unless they really get abused.

    • You forgot to mention that OLED has screen burn-in problem and it is not recommended to be used in a bright room.
      You are welcome!

      • No one really suffer any burn-in issue. To be honest unless you only watching CNN or some similar news channel, you won’t get that. Even if you do, it takes a long time to suffer. New OLED especially from big brands have softwares to counter that. None of my circle of friends bought OLED suffer burn-in.

Unless you intended to use the same tv for many many many years. Your ‘LCD’ panels would have some other problems anyways.

        Just my opinions/experience.

  • Very very nice ‘LCD’ tv, but still not an OLED. Seriously if you don’t know how to spot the key differences in some low light movies/scenes, QLED is good enough for majority.

  • They won't deliver to my address….what the!!!

    • They won't deliver to my address….what the!!!

I think that delivery option didn't work at all.

    • Can anyone get it delivered?

      • I think it won't let you select delivery option if no stock in your state. Like NSW can't deliver.

  • So no one is able to deliver and it's not available in store?

So this is not an offer
