  Thanks for this, people are pushing for Amazon Web Services but I prefer the Microsoft way. Anyone have any thoughts between the two?

    Depend on what you are trying to do. If you do custom development on open source stack I would prefer AWS.

    Azure is good if you have standard MS product and the best way to reduce windows/exchange/SharePoint/desktop/DB admins.

    Major companies place their business critical workloads into both ☁️ for resiliency ..
    As a cloud engineer, ideally, you should have work experience in both…

    AFAIK Azure is 'winning' in Australia. The growth rates are much higher.

      Not so.
      Quora reported mid last year AWS had about 85% of the Oz cloud market, Azure about 13% and Google 2%.
      For us (an all Microsoft shop), AWS is the more mature product with a better range of services.
      For straight IaaS, it also works out cheaper than Azure.
      Having said that - nothing wrong with Azure, especially if you are after PaaS. We'll probably end up using both.

    I use both but for different use cases:

    AWS: custom development or anything that requires several different services
    Azure: Basic cloud instances, testing and anything Microsoft related such as Active Directory
