Best iPhone Lightning Cable

Just wondering what the best iPhone lightning cable is ? have purchased the supposed "generic apple" ones from Kogan and they were terrible and didn't last.

I like the Anker ones but I don't think they make them any more

    • I got anker tiny length one for power bank, so far last over 1 year already. And apparently they have their official https://www.myanker.com.au

  • IMHO anything one buys from Kogan is "terrible" and does not last

Blitzwolf (especially the latest Ampcore range).

I've been disappointed by Blitzwolf. The one I bought began by dropping out if the cable was at a bad angle about 2 or 3 months after buying.
It grew worse before it stopped working completely. I wasn't rough or anything. Used at home, never took it anywhere. Won't be buying another one soon.

I’ve switched all my cables around the house to Blitzwolf now, a couple of 2M ones too. All have been great.

    • This is the only correct answer

The best one ? I guess must be the one from Apple Shop :)

As in the Apple original ones? They suck. They break easily at the plug, exposing the wires inside

I always find this amusing, I'm using my original cable from about 3 years ago with no dramas - from what i've seen is that most of the exposed wire people report occur around the head of the lightning port, which would probably indicate that people are disconnecting the cable by yanking the cable itself and not the housing around the port.

Maybe i've been lucky to not have a defective cable from the 3-4 that i've purchased, but I make sure to handle them properly when connecting and disconnecting.

    places I’ve bought from:

    • miniso: plastic coated but coloured so far been 6 months, it’s been ok no breakage yet

    • original Apple: have some that range from 2-4 years… after 3 years start losing 1 in 3 cables

    • ozgameshop: 2m cable lasted just over 1.5year and started splitting at one end wrapped with electrical cable and seems to be ok so far coming up to 2 years in March

    • xiaomi: (from xiaomi shop in Hong Kong) cable is covered in fabric cabling of some sort so far it’s been ok too but it’s only been 2 months

    • generic cheap shopping centre ones: didn’t last for very long and they stopped working for data transfer after about 6 months then slowly just stopped working altogether

Under a year if bought in australia retail store I will always get another one under warranty… Apple are pretty good about exchanging for a new one but just too expensive to buy too many from them

    • If you want to exchange with Apple, you need to take it to them as soon as it starts to look like it's going to break

I have a miniso one from China that’s about 18 months now and it has no visisble wear and tear.

We sell EFM ones by (almost) the truck load. Definitely better than the Apple ones, which admittedly would not be hard.

Blitzwolf. But my last order is yet to arrive after 58 days.

    Apple ones are the best.

But I am addicted to the hoco brand ones from ali express. I order 4-5 each time, they are cheap and I keep a stockpile of them and give them to my family members all the time. They last 3-6 months or so and take 2-3 weeks to come and are really really cheap so you can afford to buy a heap at a time.

Bought the 3M ones from Kogan and they are quite heavy duty. Much better than the flimsy ones from anywhere else.

They used to suggest me to purchase aukey or anker product

Looking for some spare cables any recommendations? Or just stick with the apple ones.

    • No

Anker cables can't go wrong with. Good quality, MFi certified and decent price. Don't buy cheap non-certified cables.

      • +1 for Anker

Blitzwolf Ampcore MFI lightning cables from Banggood, more durable than the standard Apple ones

  • Merged from Buying 3rd party lightning cables

I usually go through these cables and struggle to find a decent one, any opinions or ideas as to what is good with these?

      Anker

      • Absolutely this. Buy the Anker braided lightning cables and never need to buy any more again.

    • I bought a 10 pack from Dhgate for $12 delivered - it was during a sale 12 months ago. somehow my kids delight in losing them. only one has actually died. used with a iphone 6s, SE and 2018 ipad.

    • The best ones are found in the search function.

  • Im awaiting the Anker MFI Lightning/USB-C… hopefully soon for Australia.

  • Thanks, will look into Anker. Usually where is most reputable for sale of this range ?

  • I've bought a whole bunch of third party ones over the years and the ones that have gone the distance and don't cause any issues with regards to Apple Carplay etc are Belkin and Anker (as far as what I've tried anyway). I usually get the braided ones.

Other ones have worked for charging fine, but once I started using Apple Carplay I would get random disconnections, phone not recognised when first plugged in and other random glitches - once swapped for a Belkin or Anker zero issues.

Bought a few "MFI Certified" no name brand ones from Ebay and one of them actually melted the plastic around the plug end - scared the $hit out of me that my phone was toast - binned them all after that.

  • Any decent Ebay recommendations for Lightning cables?
Need to replace Car, Desk and Bedside so looking at 3-5 pack options on ebay.

  • If you have a USB-C wall plug the Ravpower USB-C to lightning cables are great. I bought a few from amazon recently and they're awesome. Looks well protected, comes in a few lengths, supports fast charging.
