I bought one recently and am enjoying the sound quality. Surround effect is dependent on room shape. Essentially, you need walls on both sides for the sound to reflect off. Bass from the subwoofer is decent. HDMI ARC port allows the device to be turned on/off with TV. I have not tried Yamaha online music streaming yet. The price is decent for the quality.

Yes, last year.
Ooops, yes. Corrected the posting now.
I have this in a rectangle shaped room with the side wall being floor to ceiling curtains so can’t really comment on the surround but the sound quality is pretty good. Bass is decent and punchy but not overly deep ear drum popping like you get with cheaper ones. It’s more of a cinematic feel. Awesome for movies!
I have a large room with vaulted ceilings. I don't want to use the whole room so I'd say it has 3 walls. Missing left side wall and ceiling is asymetrical.
Sounds bars any good for these situations or just bite the bullet and wire up a traditional?
wire up.
seems to be sold out already
Showing stock availability for me.
This obviously takes up much more space, but I assume would provide much better sound quality for a similar price?

Just for awareness purposes…. if you have a samsung tv and a Samsung soundbar, you don’t need ARC to control the soundbar as the soundbar can be controlled with the Samsung tv remote via optical cable. The soundbar will turn on and off when the tv turns on and off, you change the volume on the tv and the soundbar volume will change.
I don’t understand why others can’t implement the same and thus eliminate the need to use up one hdmi slot.because samsung use proprietary technology and it only works with samsung products. ARC is universal
According to the manual compatibility is with LG, Panasonic, Sharp, Sony as well.
This never connected to a phone over Bluetooth. Tried Samsung note8 and note 4. No go.
Works fine for me. Maybe yours is faulty?
I have this in a room with a brick wall behind the TV and glass on all the other sides.
I can hear sound from the right (with doors closed) but not so much from the left (has a couch in front and also curtains.)
Hasn’t P5OFF expired?
