Received an email from Velocity Frequent Flyer for a 15% bonus when converting Flybuys to Velocity when transferring for 2 days only. 2000 Flybuys converts to 870 Velocity points normally, but increases to 1000 with this bonus. Expires midnight tonight!
This is just in time before the Krisflyer devaluation. I will be transferring!

My partner didn't receive the offer via email, however he did transfer from Flybuys to Velocity and received the 15% bonus. Confirming this isn't targeted.
Did it say anything about bonus points when he did the transfer? If not I might take the chance.
No mention - it said the converted balance will be 870 velocity. Once transferred in the velocity app there was the 'December 2018 bonus' automatically added.
I didn’t get the e-mail saying it started on the 27th, however did get the e-mail as per the OP saying that the offer ended at midnight

OP’s comment “Krisflyer devaluation” is a bit misleading. It’s actually Velocity Points that is being devalued. Transfer from Velocity to KrisFlyer is going to increase from 1.35 to 1.55 from 1/1/19.
It goes both ways, transfers from Kris flyer to velocity also going to 1.55
So does that mean Krisflyer points will convert to more Velocity after the change?
What date does the revaluation take place?

The same reduced rate also applies to swapping KrisFlyer miles for Velocity points. "Receive 1 Velocity Point for every 1.35 KrisFlyer miles converted before 1 January 2019; after 1 January 2019, you will receive 1 Velocity Point for every 1.55 KrisFlyer miles converted," according to the KrisFlyer website.
Never got any notification for it but got the bonus yesterday when I transferred some points for the other Xmas promo they have going.
Confirmed not targeted. I didn't receive the email. when transferring, Flybuys didn't mention the bonus. However, after the transfer, velocity account is showing [Flybuys Bonus 15% December 2018] bonus points instantly.
Me too. No email or offer in "My offers" but I immediately received the "Flybuys Bonus 15% December"
No email about 15% bonus and nothing in My Offers either but transferred 108,000 Flybuys and received 54,000 velocity instantly. Did this about 10 minutes ago.

Is there any benefit to doing this if you're not likely to use them for any travel related use? Ie: do Velocity offer gift cards or gifts which are better value.
Edit. NVM, it's about 1% better using them for Coles gift cards by transferring them.

if 2000 flybuy point = $10, what the benefit transfer to volacity point?
Travel. I use reward credit cards for all my purchases and transfer points into velocity which are then used to pay for flights. With enough you can even fly business or very cheap business around the world.
Also to increase your Velocity membership for lounge access and more.
I am still not getting it.
I checked flights to Europe for March - it was about 146k Velocity points. When I search for paid flights they were around $900.
146k Velocity points is 292k FlyBuys points with this bonus.
292k FlyBuy points is $1460 FlyBuys dollars.
I am missing the point.
Rewards card is the keyword. 1000 Flybuys equals $10 in my case and combing the other Flybuys offers on-top gives me a huge amount. The ANZ Adventure Travel Card right now gives you 80K Velocity on sign up which can get you business class to Asia.
Naturally Europe is going to be the most expensive on points alone and for a lot of airlines it's better to convert to KrisFlyer. They're also good for getting free trips domestic.
You have to be smart with point systems if you want to travel in the cheap. A lot of people are too lazy and the programs take advantage of that.
I recently flew Perth to Athens business class return on Singapore Aitlines / Turkish Airlines using Velocity points transferred to Krisflyer. It was around 200K miles/points all up and taxes were very low when I booked, maybe $200. Totally worth taking advantage of flybuys bonus points, credit card signups, and the Velocity estore!!
The keyword is Business Class flight. People usually use the points to upgrade from Economy to higher classes. Business class tickets usually cost 3-4 time more than economy. But using upgrade it would end up around 2 times (maybe?). And you can get points through various of credit cards deals. No point to use point to buy economy tix
Also flybuys travel seems to be relatively good value, seeing as you can use the points for their exact value. 2000 flybuys points = $10, works out cheaper to book a flight through there than transfer to velocity (depending on destination).

my velocity points and bonus showed up within about 60 minutes of my transferring this morning

Havnt received any email and just saw this. Transfered at 11:58PM. Ill see if I get the bonus. Needed the trasnaction to complete my 5th Velocity parter for the 10000 bonus velocity points promo.
