could you elaborate for those who don't know?
If this is the bible of travelers, then consider me an infidel
Thus the quotes ;) It was everywhere when I was in South America. I prefer wikivoyage, but found one invaluable in the 'stans, although it was quite out of date in many towns in Uzbekistan/Tajikistan :/
Outdated when published, full of discrete ads, and paper versions are bulky!
I borrowed a Lonely Planet book from my library a couple of years ago and found these really cool caves in Belgium which apparently had an underground lake which you can take a boat ride. Well, we finally got there only to find the the boat rides stopped several years ago (due to low water levels). The LP I borrowed was obviously a bit old. No boat ride but still amazing caves.
Anyway, I just borrow all the travel guides for my destination from the library and then write out everything we're interested in to a Google Doc. No carrying extra books when you don't have to.
@neil: I took my wife and mil on a 3 hour city trip to find a donut store that seemed to have closed down a year before. Even google maps isn't safe
Good deal but I prefer DK Eyewitness travel guides. They feel like a guide, with more pictures and diagrams, rather than a normal book.
I don't think I've ever seen or heard of it! They look quite good, thanks, will investigate.
True that. The DK Eyewitness guides are the best. Lots of colour images and they even have detailed schematics of monuments which is an astounding effort.
So does that mean you can download all the ebooks to iPad?
