Free McFlurry + Delivery Fee @ McDonald's via Uber Eats

1330
MCFLURRY18

Just got this email from Uber Eats:

"A delicious end to 2018. It’s official. The McFlurry was the top-selling dessert in Australia on Uber Eats in 2018. That’s why to celebrate the last week of the year, you can get a FREE McDonald's McFlurry exclusively with Uber Eats (delivery fee applies). So whether you’re looking to keep cool or craving the crunch of a McFlurry, we’ve got you sorted."

It looks like this was intended to be used for a Free McFlurry, but for me it is just applying as a generic "$5.80 off your next order" code. It applied against any other menu item (I only tested maccas). It is even offsetting the delivery fee where the item is less than $5.80.

Limited to the first 45,000 eligible orders placed via the Uber Eats app.

Note: Mine arrived as a melted, soupy mess. YMMV. Still tasted great!

Enjoy!

    Does this come pre licked?

      builds the immunity system

    • Oi! I thought only chips had that privilege

  • +6

Still waiting for them to deliver in my area. I live 10 mins away from 2 of them

    • I live in Noosa and they do not even deliver to the part of Noosa everyone actually stays, so who knows what logic they use to determine their delivery radius

    • Just request delivery to somewhere in the zone. Just like uberx, put the GPS pin on a location and voila.

  • +9

Considering the delivery fee for my area is $6.95 it's not a great deal.

    • +1

Yeah not a amazing deal if you are intending to just order the mcflurry

    • +1

considering the driver needs to be paid it's actually cheap , the ice cream is cheap, uber is a virtual platform so it's cheap, but the driver needs to be paid for their time, petrol, etc.

    • +6

That's because the OP in that deal posted as this…

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/426446/revisions/876027/vi…

No mention initially of + Delivery, which this new deal has done.

      • +1

Same result though, should judge on deal, not a mistake new OP made.

        • +5

Not judging at all, especially as that OP is a learner. Just providing the reason for the negs in that post.

    • +2

from the title I initially thought OP meant free mcflurry and delivery

  • +3

    McFlurry = $4.35
    UberEats Delivery = minimum $5

    Not sure if worth it…

  • +18

McFlurry isnt flurry anymore, just icecream with choc chips sitting on top

      • +12

Nah they used to 'blend' them in with the ice cream

      • +14

        You must be very young.

      • +12

They had stronger spoon with square handle and a latch on the back to hook onto their Mcflurry blending machine, and uses the spoon to mix the icecream and topping

        • +4

They don’t do that anymore? Wouldn’t that just be a sundae with toppings …

          • +2

@pifts: True, I felt a bit disappointed when I had it during the 30 days 30 deals promo, I ate it anyway

          • +1

            @pifts: Nope. It's so average now…..

            • @11112007:

              Nope. It's so average now…..

I thought that average was the best you could ever expect at maccaz. Most of their stuff is below average IMO.
Only had a mcflurry couple of times though.

        • +1

Yeap. I miss the good ol thick mcflurry. Shame all you get now is sundae with topping. Cheaper to just buy sundae and make your own mcflurry.

        • +1

I never understood why they stopped blending McFlurries.

I assumed it was for health reasons with cleaning the blender.

          • @bargain ben: Not sure about maccas but when I was a kid I worked at HJs. The storm machine would constantly break so they pretty much gave up

        • They still provide that relic of a spoon in the ACT - not too sure why they're still manufacturing it though.

      • Damn, you totally missed out… mcflurries used to be really good.

    • +1

The HJ's storm was equally disappointing… even though it was free :(

I think it will arrive as a thickshake in this weather

    • Especially when they get lost causing major delay. Which happens about 1/20 deliveries from my experience.
Felt sorry for this girl that was lost and driving round area for about 50 minutes the other night. Really poor grasp of english and didn't understand that a 'surf club' is next to the beachside. Was saying 0/1/2/3 minutes away on the map, but for whatever reason she took almost an hour longer than she should have. I felt sorry for her and she was very genuinely apologetic, so I let it go and no bad review. I felt sorry for my kebab also though :( barely warm when she finally arrived.

Delivery is $0.95 more than other restaurants.

    • wow, they must be giving the drivers a pay increase so they can save up to buy their first home …..

looking at the drivers I don't think any of these guys are making lots of money …think it's more to do with work that fits in with what their visa allows.

  • +1

Considering I need to drive about an hour for Uber Eats to actually order for me, I don't think I'll take this up.

  • +1

Thanks. Worked for me. FYI Was accepted on desktop - did not have to use app. Also $5.80 was applied against order - did not have to buy a McFlurry.

    • Can you tell us if it arrives melted?

  • Maccas Auburn is closed -_-

  • i tried ( here in Melbourne Vic) the final amount did show $5.5 including delivery however from the credit card $15 was deducted.
Uber eats have a very poor customer support i think they have never seem to resolve the problem over the phone They always insists on email and then further chain of events. Hmm

    • Screenshot… Chargeback

  • I added the code to my account but I can’t find the mc flurry to add to cart??

  • I ordered a Quarter Pounder with the coupon. ($5 delivery - $5.80 coupon) No need to order McFlurry

    Doesn’t work with other restaurants.

Edit : So I waited my order for 45 minutes and the maccas cancelled mine. What..?

    • Maybe because you didn't order a McFlurry?
And you got the one person who cares too much at the store

  • +2

Why so much fanfare for the McFlurry? It's a considerably average 'dessert'.

    • -1

      "considerably average 'dessert'"
That sentence hurts my head on so many levels - Grammar and McFlurry levels.

      • Ice cream headache?

  • Eww so melted. Some things aren't made to be delivered

  • Worked without a McFlurry for me, just took the $5.80 off the order.

  • Doesn't work. Please mark as expired
