    Anyone tried? Does it work?

    • -2

Naa but must be good lol

    • +1

Yes I tried. Looks good, works very well but finding another tablet for it is pretty impossible. It's only good for 90 days and then replace the whole thing.

      • What is in the tablet?

        • +1

Probably uses a citronella tablet or something

  • does anyone know if this works on flies ? I get massive flies fly into my house, need a solution.

    • +2

      Flyscreen?

      • true

    • Fly spray?

    • +5

We had a massive issue with flies in a temporary site office in Newman a few years ago and tested everything on the market.

The sprays that automatically spray a tiny bit of an extract from chrysanthemum every 5 minutes or so (made by Pestrol, Mortein, Raid, etc.) worked best by far. There were dead fly bodies everywhere. As it's such a small amount, didn't trigger my asthma too as some other spray products did. Not too much difference between brands performance either.

I still use it now. I use the Pestrol one only because every now and then they do 20% off their refills so ends up cheaper in the long run as the refills for Mortein/Raid didn't have decent specials when I did the comparison (but who knows that could've changed now).

Any of the sticky strips/window stickers and citronella based were a waste of time. Fly traps did work but not enough to prevent them coming into the office. Beaded/plastic curtains at doorways helped a bit. They really don't like airflow at doorways so blasting air cons at doors had a similar effect to the curtains.

      • Cheers for the advice and recommendations mate, I will pick one of these up soon!

    • I have this, doesn't work well with flies, they still sit on top of it

      • Thanks for the heads up mate.

        • No worries, but im not really sure if i received a dud cartridge mat as it didnt come with the small battery and didnt work initially, I have to buy a battery for the replacment cartridge then it started working. I might have received a used repellant, still sorting it out with the seller.

  • Doubt these work.. Does anyone know any effective product will trap or kill mosquitoes that has proven success?

    • I bought it and have zero mosquito in my room. My flat mate on the other hand… :D

FYI, you'll need replacement mats when the one it comes with needs replacement (after ~90 days) and they're currently $14.40 each on Banggood

    • what mats?

      • +1

I guess it contains the substance that's emitted into the air by the fan. The unit comes with one already, but you'll need more.

    • Thanks for that. Was going to buy, but can't stand subscription appliances. They're about $10 on eBay.

  • +1

For those wondering - there is a mat which is like a cartridge that contains the repellent. One is included but you need to buy a replacement after a while.

The device is a fan that filters through the mat and disperses it around.

    • who actually sells the replacement tablet? Ok I take this comment back. Didn't realise this site actually sells the tablet as well

    • +1

there is a mat which is like a cartridge that contains the repellent.

If I'm understanding this correctly, it won't 'kill' the mozzies, it will only repel them, i.e. they go to another (unprotected) room, but they are still there. So this won't actually get rid of them will it?

Repellent outdoors makes more sense. There's a lot of places else they can go. Indoors, they're still going to be in your house somewhere, waiting for you to leave the proximity of the repellent and ready to strike.

    I call bullshit on this

    • +2

      On what basis???

The mats contain: Transfluthrin as mosquito repellents, long lasting effect

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transfluthrin

'Transfluthrin is a fast-acting pyrethroid insecticide with low persistency. It has the molecular formula C15H12Cl2F4O2.

Transfluthrin can be used in the indoor environment against flies, mosquitoes, moths and cockroaches. It is a relatively volatile substance and acts as a contact and inhalation agent.'

      • So it works on cockroaches too?

        • yep!

      • Is it safe for kids room?

        • +1

yes, the amount of transfluthrin released is too low to affect us

          source: https://circabc.europa.eu/sd/a/910c7533-aba6-4a93-87c3-31c5f2b04445/Transfluthrin%20-%20PT18%20(assessment%20report%20as%20finalised%20on%2013.03.2014).pdf

      • So does it kill or only repel?

  • +1

"Transfluthrin can be used in the indoor environment"

Thanks for that clarification! Was about to purchase for deck.

  • Do the refills go on special? I'm thinking of getting one for every room. If it helps with other insects also, why not?

Someone tell me if you think I'm going to be disappointed?

  • No idea if this works. Going to find out

  • got an email from banggood that its out of stock :(
