absolutely going to guitar lesson is better but this game is totally different from other musical games like just hitting the meaningless colourful codes. you really have to play real code of guitar to beat the missions. step by step lesson and play guitar codes like a rhythm game. and this game needs a special gender or cable for connection your guitar but you can get a gender for 3.5mm normal jack to connect a guitar to mic hole in your PC to play it.
Just as a heads up, you'll need to get the RealTone lead to plug your electric guitar into the USB port
I just cut my end of guitar lead and connect with normal 3.5mm jack cable and connect my guitar to mic port on my PC. it works perfectly as RealTone.
or just use this to connect to mic port on PC
Are you sure they have removed the check? In the past this required a hack/crack to use other sound input devices.
Edit: There is no mention of the USB Realtone on the product page, so maybe they have given up on the hardware check. Makes sense to get more online sales.
