I wonder if this camera is good for vlogs?

It would work fine however it has no LCD screen at the back to seeing what you are filming so you will need to guess.

GoPro cameras are very good, they have become almost an industry standard for when an unmanned small/waterproof/wearable camera is needed.

The TV show mythbusters uses these cameras all the time when they need a fixed camera in cars/areas where there will be explosions.

  • RRP is $299USD, so this is now around the RRP mark in Australia. Still a 'bargain' I guess but it should be lower, surely the distributor sells these under RRP to resellers in Australia?

I'd like one for my car, but the price should be fairer to Australians; RRP should be $299 here and then discounted down. Having said that, it's $50 cheaper than anywhere else here in Australia, so warranty is easier.

  • They're GOOD little cameras! Here's a mates clip of different things, including a bit of "dog-cam".

I'm one of the other divers in the shark bit. Not the bald one. For those unimpressed with the colours underwater, I gotta say they're pretty amazing without a proper lighting rig!

  • Speedweek, and also Top Gear Australia use these cams too. They work great for what they are. There are better in-car systems, but few better outside ones (especially weather proof ones!)

  • Great camera, I was looking at purchasing one a week ago. I ended up going with a Drift Innovations HD170 though, as it has a built-in LCD screen. The HD170 goes for $349 from the US (with 16GB card) or $359 local, delivered, from ebay.

  • Would like one of these to mount to the bike but can't really justify $300+

I missed out on this, didn't see it until after my transaction went through :(
