  • Suggest getting a free Roon trial to use with Tidal HiFi. Audio bliss! Definitely not bargains after the trial though;-) My wallet is still in pain!

    • Not really understanding roon

Is it just a better interface?

I have some schiit gear but interested to see how it works

      • Mainly a better interface with band information, album reviews, song lyrics. I store all my music on a NAS, Roon indexes this and streams it to most devices in my home (the ones it doesn't support can be added with a Raspberry PI) native resolution if possible. PCs, Tablets, phones, iPods can be used for remote control. Tidal favourites are seamlessly integrated into your library. Pretty awesome IMHO.

        • Thanks

Bit pricey for $119 a year

I have a NAS too but I have a Plex server with a Plex pass

Woohoo! Thanks a bunch OP. I should check my emails more often. Perfect timing for the Chrissie party. My trial just ran out too.

  • Hows tidal for song selection?

    • +1

It depends on the genre you're interested in.

I personally found some excellent Jethro Tull ones (Steven Wilson remixes, if you're interested). Some of the tracks are in MQA. Even though I don't have very high end equipment, the difference in quality is amazing. It is quite possible that it's got more to do with the actual production quality than MQA.

  • I find that my tidal always buffers that’s why I don’t use it anymore

    • I have never had this issue. However, if you do have a bad connection, you can download albums for offline listening.

  • probably a mssave case of pebcak but what am i missing? Click the link, enter in a new email and password, then submit and i get just taken to a login page, with no mention of $1.99 hifi, only the standard 30 day free trial? And doesn't look like the email/password gets registered at all on submit.

    • Oh! That's bizarre. Would you have any extensions installed that may prevent Tidal from identifying your location, by any chance?

Did you want to give it another go by starting from the following link?:

Sweet! Found mine in the junk folder, so check there if you don’t see it in your inbox.

  • Hi all, careful with signing up to this cheaply because they make their money back after these trials, make sure you set calendar to cancel, I didn't and spent$12 on service I didn't utilise enough.

  • I like TIDAL and have been using it for about 9 months on various trials and deals, but dammit the HiFi price is just too high. Doubt I'll continue at full whack.

  • Can you cancel the payment renewal right away, or would that just cancel the actual service too?

    • +1

Yes, possible to cancel the renewal straightaway.
